To add to that fun, we are also Gluten Free ( not an allergy, just an intolerance). I'm really nervous about being able to find treats. I plan to pack my own snacks, eat at the fresh fruit carts, just sit and watch while the rest of the family enjoys Mickey shaped Ice cream bars...

Does anyone with a severe nut allergy have any advice on handling food in the parks? Not just treats, but food in general. I can live without ice cream. :)

They have been rolling out allergy menus top to bottom, they should be at all TS by now. At CS, always ask for the binder before ordering. I know that Gibson Girl on Main St has a dedicated ice cream area where you can get chocolate or vanilla without toppings in a cup. Jolly Holiday has Enjoy Life cookies or brownies that you can ask about. Bringing your own snacks is always a good plan. Have you thought about making a grocery run? Buying some fruit there would be a lot cheaper, possibly worth the time and effort if you buy your snacks there too.

They do sell uncrustables in the parks, so you might want to check menus and avoid places that serve that because kids eating PBJ touch everything around them. Goofy's also has a PBJ pizza on the buffet. I know that they will bring safe food from the back, but still, kids, at a buffet, with PB. I'm not allergic to nuts and that just seems a little icky to me.

This is us! My son has a severe peanut allergy and I have intolerances to gluten, dairy, soy, eggs and almonds.

I loved Disneyland because they handle food allergies better than anywhere else I've seen. Special menus, chefs coming to talk to us, I felt safe feeding is there. Just mention the allergies any time you dine and you will be fine. In fact they will likely ask if you have any allergies in your party. We did pack sandwiches and snacks but ate often in the parks

Good to know! I guess food service dealing with THAT many people on a daily basis would have to have this down.

Nearly all of the quick service places have allergy menus and the carts have binders with ingredients. My daughter is allergic to eggs/milk/peanuts and our favorite place to eat is Cocina Cucamonga in DCA. They are nut-free and have many egg/milk free options for us. As long as you can have corn tortillas, I think gluten free won't be an issue there. Be sure to order it as an allergy meal, and if you are uncomfortable at all with it, ask to speak to the chef. They seem to lump peanuts and tree nuts together on most of their allergy menus. My daughter is able to share an adult hamburger (I'm nearly positive that gluten free buns are available) and fries with me (we've had issues with child buns not being safe for her) at Village Haus, Galactic Grill and Smokejumper's Grill. The popcorn from the carts was also safe for her. For treats, she was able to have Dole Whip (I believe it has coconut) from the Tiki Room and a mango sorbet bar (they called a guy (chef?) from the back and he got the bar from the freezer in the back, rather than the front line for her) from Clarabelle's in DCA. I believe there are also fruit bars and frozen lemonade available at the carts that should be safe as well. Ghiradelli will not do an allergy order, so I don't recommend them.
