Peanut Butter on Line At CP

Hi everyone, for those with peanut/nut allergies that have been to Crystal Palace, is there actually peanut butter or PBJ sandwiches on the line? I see it's on the menu.

Hi, just to clarify - does anyone know if there are open containers of pb or pbj sandwiches on the buffet? I am concerned about cross contamination. Also, will be chef bring my daughter food from the kitchen so that she can avoid using the buffet? Thanks!

My dd is allergic to peanuts eggs and milk. Usually at buffets the chefs will walk u through the line and point out what's safe to eat. After this happens, the chef returns to the kitchen and prepares the food especially for the allergy sufferer so there's no cross contamination. I've never eaten at CP but will say the chef at 1900 park fare was by far the most attentive. One of the many reasons We keep going back to Disney is because they handle dd's food allergies so well.

I don't have an answer about the peanut butter on the buffet. I just want to assure you that chefs will get food from the kitchen for you in order to avoid cross contamination. Sometimes they won't suggest it to you but if you ask then they'll do it.

When we ate the PB&J sandwiches that where served where the "uncrustables" brand and they where still in the wrappers. That was a few years ago so I can not tell you for certain if that is still they way the do it. As others have said, note on all your reservations that there is an allergy and the chef will take good care of you. ALWAYS ask to speak to the chef if your server does not offer to get them.

There was NOT an open container of peanut butter there for dinner last year but things change all the time! We have seen a container at several Breakfast buffets over the years but that was before we had a PA child. I know one was Chief Mickey and one was Tucker House. I THINK CP might had had one for lunch at some point.

We have NEVER had a chief not come out to talk to us and be willing to do anything we needed to keep our child safe including getting food from the back and even another restaurant. DS eats mostly one brand and one flavor ice cream for dessert at TS but he is good with that so we are too. Some people do report really neat dessert things but that has not really happened to us.

I have never seen an open tub of PB at any Disney restaurant. I've only seen sealed Individual containers (think jelly) and most of them make you ask your server. They aren't just laying on the table or buffet with a few exceptions.

we had a grandson react to peanut butter while we were in line for a ride. could not see any PB but that is the only thing he reacts to. he was hold the rope as we walked and then touched his face. a trip to ER later and we were able to return to our fun. lots of families bring sandwiches in to parks to save money. never know where one of those were eaten. one more worry

We try to avoid the CS places that serve the uncrustables. The worst one seems to be the Pinocchio House that has that window that looks over small world. Lots of little hand covered in peanut butter go on that window! Lots of people eat their PB&J sandwiches on benches and curbs and even in line. I know I tell DS at least 10 times an hour not to touch and keep his hands from his mouth!

I hope that WDW has ceased the practice of putting out tubs of peanut butter. It has been a while since we saw one but they use to be there!

While I know many kids do have PB allergies, it is nice to have it available for those who do eat peanut butter. I carry the small prepackaged single serve containers for my grandson since he will not eat a PBJ. He doesn't like jelly at all. I promise to thoroughly wipe his hands off after letting him eat pb.

My hope is that all buffets have gone to having the sealed containers of peanut butter available and have gotten rid of the open container. I understand it was nice for some people, but it is a disaster for PA kids. We simply could not eat at a buffet where this was available. When we saw then at buffets (before our PA kid came along), there was was always kids sticking fingers in there and touching everything and hugging characters!! We can and do safely eat at buffets with a few modifications, but the open containers are out of our comfort zone. Have not seen them in quite a few years.

I do remember seeing tubs of peanut butter at Tusker House as recently as last Fall. I noticed them because they were a mess with peanut butter all over and the children's buffet is sort of between parts of the adult buffet at that restaurant.
I have not seen them at other places
- that doesn't mean they were not there, just that I didn't notice them.
