So we JUST found out m 3 year old DD has a peanut allergy (just peanuts, nothing else). This is a girl who loves cookies and cupcakes! I am managing ok at home but my heart is breaking at the thought of her looking at all the yummy desserts at DW and not being able to have ANY of them! Add to that we are celebrating my DS bday and I'm sure a cupcake or 2 will be brought to the table (even though, crazy enough, he doesn't like cupcakes!)

Please give me ANY suggestions for desserts she can eat or that I can request! We will be in all 4 parks as well as staying at Poly.

Thanks for ANY help from a panicking Mama!

Note it on any adrs (call and ad to the reservation) and the chef will go over what is safe and not safe to eat including desserts. For counter service tell the cm when you order and they will get aa after and the allergy binder to go over the ingredients so you can find something safe. Peanut is a very common allergy so you should have no problem finding stuff that works for you and her.

WDW is wonderful with allergies. Our DS6 was diagnosed at 2 and WDW makes it easy to vacation. Many of the desserts are off limits and others will depend on your doctor's recommends and your comfort levels. MOST things they will not guarantee because they can not confirm that outside sources are peanut free. We mostly got Edy ice cream and sprinkles at all the sit down places .We do the Popsicles sold in all of the carts and soft serve ice cream but not dipped.

I would request that no cupcakes be brought to the table, just not fair to her to have to deal with that. They do a lot less birthday treats now than they used to, so maybe not even an issue. You can order them both safe ice-cream.

Be sure to carry lots of safe treats for her, and you can request safe packs of cookies at some or most of the CS places. We have never done that and just get something later. Do be aware that there are a LOT of unsafe dessert out there so decide before hand if you will eat things at the table she can not have....a personal choice but we do not. If he can not have it, we do not eat it around him and it is also a safety issue. Kids have had major reactions from being kissed by a parent that had eaten a may contain food.

Be sure to carry at least two epis at all times and know that you are in good hands at WDW!!

You'll be surprised of all the desserts your daughter will be able to eat. Disney is use to peanut allergies. I can't eat chocolate or nuts. At the Plaza Restaurant the other day, a banana split without chocolate and nuts was made for me. Be sure to mark it on the reservation and to remind your dining staff along the way. At CS restaurants it's the cashier you'll tell.

Thanks! I'm feeling a little better! I know there is no better place to be than Disney to deal with this so hopefully everything will go smoothly!

One way to make her not feel left out at dessert would be to request peanut free desserts (and/or meals) for the whole family. We have one child with an allergy and request all our food reject the same allergy. The chefs have been lovely and have made the children's desserts amazing even if they are just a scoop if ice cream :)

That's a great idea! I will do that. Thank you!

even though you did not ask about but watch for peanut butter smears to be on chains in ride lines. people will allow their children to eat a p and j sandwich while in line to save money. had a grandson react while standing in line and we of course did not allow him to have peanut butter. had to make an ER trip. we did not see any peanut butter but it was there somewhere. just a heads up
