I am considering booking a lunch at Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom and we have a diner with us who has a life threatening peanut allergy. I was wondering if anyone can give me feedback on their experience eating here with a peanut allergy. I know the chefs at Disney are fabulous, but wondered if they were just as good here as it is not Disney-owned. We just ruled out Tusker House as an option due to the open container of peanut butter at the children's buffet.

We've eaten at the Rainforest at DTD without any problems. My DD has multiple food allergies, including peanut.

We ate at the one at AK in 2010 and I am anaphylactic to peanuts and also allergic to eggs and shellfish. We had amazing service! Actually was better then some of the service we had at Disney owned restaurants.

In Disneyland, we had better service at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney than at any of the retsurants in the parks.

That's great news! I figured they would be just as good, but it's nice to hear about other people's experience. Thanks for sharing.

Ate there last month with PA DS5. Chief came out to talk with us. He did not seem as knowable as some of the chiefs but answered my questions and followed my request to read me the EXACT warning on a dessert we were interested in. We are ok with made in the same factory as but not on the same line or traces etc. I kept asking him to be sure he understood and he was very patient with me and assure me he had followed my request. Service overall was VERY good and we enjoyed our meal with little worry.

No issues for us and my son has multiple food allergies. I do recall though that he was only able to eat the rotiserie chicken off the kids menu. I ordered him a grilled chicken sandwich the following visit and all was well for him.

Thanks again for the feedback. I hope there are more options by the time we go, other than just chicken. We love going to Disney because there are usually so many options for someone with peanut allergies.
