peak season pricing

The problem with DDP is that it doesn't make sense for everyone and can eliminate other deeper discounts.

We are AP holders and have our primary residence in Florida. I booked our 2 room-only reservations back in early March using a Florida resident pin code for 40% off. I'm not allowed to add the DDP to my room-only reservations even if I wanted to pay for it out of pocket. In order to get the DDP I'd have to either give up the discount I'm currently booked under and go with an AP discount or book at full rack rate to get free dining under the GP offering. Currently I don't even see an AP discount for September. The AP discount for October-December is only 35% and not my travel dates. In order to break even with my current room discount + my dining budget utilizing the free dining w/the minimal 2-day tickets I'd have to downgrade from deluxe resorts to moderates. Nah. I'll stick with what I have.

Not that it pertains at all to the pricing.... but for me the DDP is my nemesis solely because the 2 times we have had it I gained 10 lbs. each trip. There's my biggest reason for stearing clear! I love to eat. If food is available to me with no dollar signs to be my next closest voice of reason I'm gonna go for it!

A previous poster has stated that the summer surcharge either ends today or ended yesterday. Jeese people, stop panicking. I think the op should either edit the title or the first post because it has people getting upset over inaccurate info now.

However, if you didn't happen to read the whole thread and you are outraged over price increases and want to give up your 1900 Park Fare dinners or early Tusker House or Crystal Palace breakfasts the last week of September, please let me know. ;)

:thumbsup2 good suggestion, I am going to edit the title and my first post.

First time back to boards. Sorry if Deb or moderators took offense to my comments...not my intention.

As a site visitor, I was and still am confused as to how they, and WDWinfo verify pricing on menus, so that's why I asked a few questions about it, and made some suggestions. Didn't realize that was not allowed, so I am truly sorry for interrupting the thread.

Thanks, Tiger
