If we all go to DLR, it's going to be cheaper for me to rent a suite than to get two rooms at HoJo.

Is the Peacock Suites within walking distance? We are all adults but one, and he's an infant so his feet won't get tired anyway. :rolleyes1

Thanks!

We are going to stay there in April and plan on using the bus system to get to the parks. I have a little person (4) so I think her feet might get tired.

We just stayed there last week and to be honest it was a nice walk in the morning in the nice fresh air. It took us 20 minutes to be inside the turnstiles in front of the train station. We did ART it back most of the time but it had nothing to do with the distance it was raining and I just wanted to get back to the hotel and change into dry clothes. Although by the time the ART came we could of walked back to the hotel. So adults in my opinion could make the walk very easily.

I wouldn't walk it if i didn't have to. Depending on how many days you are going to be there that is a lot of extra walking. If you are planning full days in the park your feet will hate you.

We stayed here in Jan, we did the walk every morning but took a taxi back in the evenings. It was a great walk in the morning, not crowded, nice weather but at night it was more than we wanted to do so we did the taxi deal. Cost us more but that was OK with us. Now we have Premium APs so we have free parking, our March & May trips (we will be at the Peacock) we will use our free parking and drive ourselves. :)

How much was the taxi if you don't mind me asking? And for how many people?

I found the entertainment rate at the HoJo to still be a better option than most all of the suites for the time we are going (June), even the DI&S. (Booked two rooms at the HoJo for $59/night - total $118/night. DI&S was $139/night for a suite for that time). One thing to consider is how much will you be paying for a taxi or for the ART might eat into any potential savings for staying farther away. Just my 2¢.

The Ent Rate may not be available the dates they need.

The taxi was for 2 but that shouldn't matter, they don't charge by the person. We paid $5-6 (fare was about $3 and we doubled the tip) the first 2 trips but the last time the driver was lame, didn't listen to where we going and we ended up paying him $7, the fare was $6.60, he really ticked us off so we didn't pay him extra. We shouldn't have paid him what we did.......

Thanks, you do have a point. Right now our total cost including fees at HoJo would be $1163. Two of our nights are not ET rate. At the Peacock I could get the same nights for $820 with no added fees. That's a pretty big difference.

I am still studying on it, though. :surfweb:

I used that Google thing and it's 7 tenths of a mile to the pedistrian walkway up Disney way and making a R on Harbor. Yes its walking distance if you feel like walking that far after a long day.

Be aware that the Peacock has a mandatory valet fee of $8 per day. Just an fyi. :)

Yup, just found that out. With plans still not settled, I'm getting frustrated, but will keep on keeping on. Why would someone NOT decide if they are going to DLR on me???

:~)

Don't forget to get the dis rate of 15% off rack rate applied to those two nights...or if anyone has an AP, you can get 20% off rack rate. Just remember to always call the 714 number during pacific time business hours and ask for "in house" reservations to make sure you're getting the right stuff applied. :)

Thanks, I've also been messaging Lorealle as plans keep changing, she was kind enough to give me a grand total for two rooms with the ET rate, the discount AND taxes and fees. That's what I was basing my comparison on. As of now, though, it looks like my question regarding Peacock is moot, as is the need for two rooms at HoJo. I'm keeping my ET room.

Thanks to all who answered!

HoJo woul dhave been my first choice but they have no rooms for the dates we are going :sad2: I am looking forward to Peacock Suites - I won't mind the walk at all. If we decide at night we are very tired we will just take a cab back to the hotel.
