Hi Guys,

So I am now seriously considering the last three weeks of August 2011 for our next trip. This will mainly be a pool holiday with a couple of days at the parks.....

My question is regarding flights. We intend to fly Virgin PE and I am just wondering what we can expect to pay for flights in August? Also as we are hoping to go for three weeks, will we miss out on any better prices which will be snapped up by those only going for a fortnight and can therefore book earlier?

Any advice would be gratefully received as I this is my first time of boooking in peak season.....

Thanks,

Ali :goodvibes

Prices for August 2011 are already on VH's website.

Nick

Almost always more expensive booking on VH, lower prices should be available on VA but not until later in the year(Sept), just priced our dates Aug 2011 £891.55pp, PE £1520.55pp:scared1:

This August PE on VA were around £1200-1300. doubt the week delay in booking will make any difference.

For that price you could do same as we are this August, buisness class indirect, means swapping planes but you get a lay flat seat. Costing us £1,170pp this year.

OMG! That much!!!! :scared1::scared1:

Would be looking to book through VA and not VH..... Might have to consider Feb again at this rate :confused3:rotfl:

Always said I would NEVER consider indirect but.........

Who are your flights with Wayne? and were they a special offer or generally available?

Thanks,

Virgin economy for this August have been £800-£1,300 just a few were available on codeshare just under £700.

We are flying Delta Business Elite again same as last August, superb service. From manchester we still had the older seats, but this August we are hoping they have finished their re-fits and are lay flat same as Heathrow route.

The price changes often, I just waited until they dropped under £1200 and booked, I paid £1,170pp, same flights to book now are £2,189.80pp Virgin want £3,297.02pp :scared1: All 3 of us going for price of 1 with Virgin, worth a 2 hour change of planes to save over £6k

I always said the same once DD was born..... Let's just say that with the way flight prices are going, I have had a serious attitude adjusmtment re indirect  In fact, regarding next year's trip, I am already planning to take an extra couple of days to make the indirect aspect part of the adventure, rather than an inconvenience"

Did you specifically want to use VA? I know BA does direct as well and sometimes the prices are competitive. (I also said a decade ago I would never fly BA again ..... funny how things change ;)) Just wondered if you are perhaps planning to use airmiles which is why you are looking at VA

Think I might be pushing it money wise fitting a cruise in as well! :rotfl:

Would cost you £384pp on todays exchange rate. How much is 4 days hotel & food? knock that off and its not much more :rotfl2:
