I need a new computer and I'm looking at all options. Anyone?

Most people who own Apples are die-hard fans but the best advice I can give is to go to any software store and look for Apple software. :( Not there is it?

Be prepared to buy it all mail-order unless you have a nearby Apple dealer and even then, it usually is more expensive.

I think most folks who use/like Apples are those who use them at work/school/etc or are involved some way in super high end graphics and/or art/engineering type applications. Even then, most PC's do just as well for those things too, though I do know (have clients) who's work is high end graphics (newspapers, advertising designers and the like) who only use Mac's, not a PC in their operations. For an 'average' person, I would think PC the way to go. Whichever, enjoy your new one when you decide, and good luck.

Apple is THE way that graphic designers all began our work and continue to do it. :teeth: BUt I have heard MANY pc people that have converted once they got the hang of it. I could name a million reasons but I concur that going to a Apple store would be the best way to learn about them if you can get to one. This is one of the big drawbacks to a Mac is that knowledgable people are HARD to find and people in stores like CompUSA or Best Buy won't know a thing about them and will only try to sell you a PC without knowing the pros and cons of each. THIS is one of the cons. Lack of konwledgaeble people! And fewer games made for it...but that has changed GREATLY since the iMac. : ) I'd be happy to answer any questions. I'm not an expert but I'm VERY knowedgable. :)

Happy hunting!:wave2:

I would never buy a Mac from any place other than the Apple Store or off their website.

We've talked to people at CompUSA, etc. that had absolutely no idea what they were talking about.

We have both PC's and a Mac.

Only you know what is best for you. My DH LOVES his Mac and I am quickly learning to love it, too.

If he needs something for it, he just calls or orders it off their website. Their reps are very helpful.

Good luck with your decision.
