I can't decide on pbh or rpr. I have been digging all day on these boards and found out some stuff. It looks like PBH is more romantic, has bigger standard rooms, does not have self service laundry rooms (which we need) and has 2 sinks in the baths. RPR is cozy and laid back, a bit closer to the parks, smaller standard room, 1 sink, laundry facilities, no slide at pool.

Here is a little bit about us; my ds age 8 loves to swim (fish could be his middle name), we like a clean cozy atmosphere, our favorite place to stay at wdw is POR (due to the pool, lush grounds, spacious hotel layout and decent food court), we usually don't spend much time actually in the room.

Hmm, I think I may have answered my own question. RPR! or maybe not. HELP!

We stayed at RPR last year and while most will say the rooms are small we found them large enough for us a family of 4 and my sons loved the pool for the boat that has the water guns and me ad DW loved just strolling around the hotel cause we love the island theme and don't think you would go wrong with RPR.
Don't forget when you stay onsite they encourage you to pool hop wich means you can check out all the pools .
Hope this helps :thumbsup2

We have stayed at all three.Love Hard Rock for the atmosphere-Love PBH for the ambieance of bieng in Italy-But RPR got my heart hands down..:thumbsup2

All three have self serv luandry.Pools, they vary between the three.PBH has three with one havind a slide.HRH has a slide in there 1 pool (thats all they got 1)with music underwater, but i can never tell if the music was from above!!
RPR pool is the most luxurios of the three. Its lined with palms and its huge.Thats what sells me at RPR is the pool and the tropical feel all around you..
Dont know if this helps.Just my opionion!!:thumbsup2

I called PBH today directly and they told me that they do not have laundry facilities only dry cleaning service. Of course I was talking to the operator so don't know for sure. Does anyone have detailed resort maps? Thanks everyone for your input....:goodvibes

This is the best I can find.Dont go to Travelocity or others for reviews cuase If one person has a problem it takes the rating down.If you ever have a problem with your stay go straight to managment. They will go above and beyong to make sure your stay is perfect!!:thumbsup2

correct.
pbh does not have a laundry facility for the guests.

the other two do.

patster has some maps on different threads.
i'll see if i can pull them up for you if no one here does later tonight.

The rooms may be the smallest out of the three Universal hotels, but they are still not bad. Remember, the beds in there are queen sized beds, not the double beds at WDW.

We often had 5 people in an RPR room with no problems. However, I must admit that we now stay exclusively at PBH. We love it there!

We have only stayed at RPR for the past 5 times. I would like to try the other 2 resorts but we love RPR too much. We are like you, we do not stay in the room too much. We pool hop to HRH for the slide and atmosphere, but always nice to return to RPR.:thumbsup2

Thanks so much everyone, I think I will change our ressies to RPR. Are the standard rooms ok or should we do water view? I just want a upper level quiet location.

:listen: Did I hear my name mentioned!

I love using maps.live.com to get a sattelite view of Universal. This image is centered on the RPR: http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v...0&scene=3909223&phx=0&phy=0&phscl=1&encType=1. Move it around to locate the other 2 hotels or chose "Bird's eye" for an even closer view!

you always do a great job on those maps homie.
tanks!!

do you still have the one with the arrows that shows which place is which?
i think the op is a newbie.
she might not know which hotel is the rph one.

I guess by maps, I am referring to resort room and layout maps, the ones that show where the restaurants are and all the little details. Thanks for the satellite map links, I love it!

Thanks everyone again. One other question I have, do any of these resort have refrigerators in the rooms at the standard level?

There is an extra charge for fridges unless they are for medical reasons--they are small dorm sized.

If your looking to just keep some stuff cool then I would suggest picking up a starafoam cooler cause that beats the prices you have to pay for the frig.
