PBH or HRH..Opinions

Got PBH for $256 club or HRH for $224 garden view.

I have a son with special needs so am considering transportation and ease of resort (proximity to pool, parks,etc.) this will be a short 3 day trip for his birthday so the rates are ok for us.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Sounds like you are getting a better rate at PBH for Club vs. HRH garden view.
How old is he going to be? HRH is a favorite for pre and early teens. Is he in a wheelchair? Motorized?
I think HRH is a better location for park access.
The water taxis are accessible but US is a short walk from HRH.

Sure sounds like you are getting a much better deal at Portofino. We had a stroller with us when we were at Portofino, so it seemed like we had to walk around a lot of areas with stairs. They had ramps everywhere, but it seemed like we were always looking for the way around for the stroller. Hard Rock is a very convenient choice. The pool is closer to the building. Less stairs it seems like. We were only at Portofino one night, so we probably did not learn the best way around the resort. You might be able to call the day before arrival, or early the morning of and tell them of your requirements, I am sure they would be willing to do what they can.

Hmmm... I went with PBH but now I'm not so sure. I did tell them my DS had a special chair and that it would be great if we could be close to an elevator. Maybe I will call concierge and ask them.

When I gave the dep. the gal said we should be fine a PBH but I trust my DIS friends more of course!!

I've only been to US once, and that was last week, and we stayed at the HRH, and I would highly recommend it!!! It is within easy walking distance to the parks and city walk. It has a very nicely paved walkway, if he is in a wheelchair.

There were a lot of kids at the HR; it was just a very fun, lively place, with really neat decor in the lobby.
