PayPal debit card question

I made a purchase at amazon.com using my PayPal debit card. I only have 1/2 the amount needed to cover the payment in PayPal. Will the balance be taken from my linked checking account?

You'd think I'd know by now, but I don't think I've encountered this situation. I know when I purchase from ebay with PayPal it takes the balance from my checking, just not sure about the debit card.

Nevermind. Just got the email from Amazon.com that "Your credit card payment for the above transaction could not be completed."

Time to transfer funds.
