Payment for CRT

We are going in September with free dining. I just completed all our ADRs this morning online.

Here's the question:

To book CRT, I had to give a credit card number. (Nothing charged to it at this point.) I'd like to pay for that ressie out of pocket (rather than with dining credits).

When we get to CRT that day, since we're not paying with dining credits, do I HAVE to pay using the same credit card I used to book it? Can I use a different credit card... or cash? Or a Disney gift card?

Thanks!

You just need to be sure to BRING that credit card with you to the restaurant to guarantee that it is indeed YOUR reservation if needed. From there, you can pay however you like.

I also intend to pay cash in spite of being on the dining plan. I think you can probably also call ahead of time and pay with another credit card. I'm just always wary of doing ANYTHING with the ADR for fear it will disappear or something!

Good luck and have fun!

Uh-oh.... Now we might be in trouble.

I used Dh's card to make the ressie. And dh will not be coming to this ressie with us.

Suggestions? Do I call the dining line and see if I can just pre-pay for the ressie before the trip?

Okay.. just checked the policies on CRT on the website and it doesn't say you have to bring your credit card with you.

So I am hoping if I just bring the confirmation number that will be enough???

I have never done CRT on the dining plan, but we never had to show anything when we checked in.
Once we only booked it 2 or 3 days before. Next time we booked it right after our ADR window opened. SInce we were not on the dining plan either trip, we were pay in full already, and just enjoyed the meal with no bill at the end.
This trip, we booked before we added the dining plan to our reservation, so we paid for it, and will have to deal with getting our money back when we go to eat.

Thanks for that info ljcrochet...

I'm thinking we'll just show up with the confirmation number and see. We may end up using DDP credits after all, as I'm rethinking our Artist Point meal.... if we cancel that we'll have credits for CRT.

I paid oop for our CRT ressie in March. I only had to give them the confirmation number and show my ID. They did not ask for the credit card.

I book CRT a week ago and wanted to pay oop BUT my online account shows the charge has already been made!! Please let me know if your's has as well.We dine Monday so maybe it is because we are close to dining time.Someone please let me know your experience with this!Check your statements and tell me if you have the charge now too???

I was also already charged for my reservation. The charge went thru when I made the reservation on 5/19/2009. I was told that the charge was going to be applied that day though, so it is not a surprise to me.

On the other hand, we are also going to Victoria & Albert's. They also took a credit card number but told me that they would not charge the card until we arrived for our reservation. The CM on the phone specifically mentioned that unlike CRT, they do not charge the credit card at the time of the reservation.

On w/ a CM yesterday and she told me to be SURE to bring my ID to confirm my identity. Never mentioned anything else, but I am on FD.
