Hello you lovely lot!

I've promised DD that we will have Breakfast in the Disneyland Hotel at least once during our stay. I've never done it before without staying in the hotel, so wondered whether anyone who has done it recently could let me know what the process is.

Am I right that we queue up as normal, show them our Santa Fe Easy Pass and then advise them that we want to pay the supplement to upgrade to have breakfast there?

Do they take the payment there and then or do I have to try and find someone to pay when we're done? Also, can I get shareholders discount?

Thanks In Advance princess:

Dont show them your hotel easypass ~ theres no need to and that may just confuse matters. you,re not paying an upgrade price to eat breakfast at the DLH, its the same price everyone pays if they are not a guest of the DLH.
you,ll be taken to a till just inside the restaurant to pay before you are seated. yes you get shareholders discount off the price :)

How much does breakfast at the DLH cost?

its around 15 euros per adult, 6 euros per child, children aged under 3 are free. You can use either shareholders or AP discount too, as it classed as a resort buffet meal :).

This may sound silly but I keep seeing a shareholder discount mentioned. Is this for owning Disney stock? I'm just wondering if I found a discount I might qualify for! :D

It is but it's for stock in Euro Disney SCA, not the Walt Disney Company.

Only owning shares is not enough, the discounts are only given to members of the Disneyland Paris Shareholder's Club. To become a member you currently have to hold 300 shares (price of one is at ~4.65€ today). The membership itself is free.

I think the most noteworthy discounts would 15% at each table service our buffet restaurant, 15% at the park's boutiques and 15% off of Annual Passes.

Oh, yes, you are totally right! It was 30 shares before and they have raised the minimum requirement recently to 100. Somehow I got that mixed up. Sorry!

Here is the exact requirement, directly from the Disney website:

Since Monday, October 1st, 2012, any shareholder who would like to become a member or to renew its membership to the Shareholders Club, has to hold a minimum of 100 Euro Disney S.C.A. shares (ISIN code: FR0010540740) in a bearer or a registered form. Members of the Shareholders Club who joined before October 1st, 2000 and who hold a valid membership card, are exempt from this minimum shareholding.

Maybe it's changed but I paid after eating instead of before hand. And one time a CM told me not to worry about paying lol.

Also when I did pay they wanted me to pay by card and not cash. Not sure if that has changed either.

yes i was asked to pay by card rather than cash last time too, i don't think they deal with much cash so early in the morning at the restaurants in the DLH :). The first time we pad for breakfast in the DLH, we didn't pay before we were seated, then at the end of the meal when I asked to pay, the waitress just said "no problem, no charge" even though I told her more than once we weren't guests of the DLH :confused3.

All times since then, the greeter has taken us to the till just inside Inventions, and I've paid there before we're seated for breakfast.

Is this a character breakfast as well?

No, you can have your breakfast quiet and peacefully. Characters are however stationed right in front of the restaurants during the breakfast hours.

Is this a character breakfast as well?

not inside the restaurants, no. But in the mornings at the DLH the characters do their meet n greets right outside the entrance to the restaurants, and usually you'll find one or 2 more downstairs in the lobby on your way in/out of breakfast.

I didn't know you could do this.

Paying for brekkie in the DLH and possibly having a little character interaction afterwards sounds a great idea rather than deal with the scums outside lol

Think i will have to work out where to go for this :yay:

Dead easy Glenn :) - you go up the grand staircase in the lobby (or take the lifts near the staircase up to the 1st floor). ahead of you and to your right at the top of the staircase, you'll find the corridor which has the gift shop, castle club reception, cafe fantasia bar, and the entrance to the restaurants inside the DLH. You just go to the entrance of the restaurants, tell the waiter/waitress there that you want to pay for breakfast, and they'll organise payment then seat you.

Thanks for that Daft, useful to know. Looking forward to doing this and having a bit of magic in the DLH

We loved it there, it was a nice break for us, especially since living in Germany we really miss big American breakfasts. We showed up and asked for breakfast, telling them we had to pay, and showed our Cheyenne pass. They said afterwards, so we sat down and ate. We found a waitress afterwards ( we did not have one) and asked about paying, she said, oh don't worry about it and smiled. We were scared of the Mickey police and went to the front desk to tell them we didn't pay. The lady laughed :rotfl2:, really really laughed, :rotfl:, and said it was a magical morning for us.

Aww that's a lovely story! Some pixie dust must have been in the air that day! How much is breakfast usually?
