Paying outright for reservation

Hello,

I've booked a 2 night stay at WDW through the USA section of the website (although I'm from the UK). The reason I booked through the US section of the site is that it offers free cancellation until 5 days beforehand, whereas the UK version doesn't.

Anyhow, I've paid a deposit equalling one night's stay. Is it possible to pay the rest of the amount prior to arrival at the hotel? I ask because if I noticed a favourable exchange rate before then, I would pay the remainder. If I pay outright, can I still cancel at no cost until 5 days beforehand?

Worried in case the GB pound goes massively south in the next few months (* if Brexit ever happens etc)

Thanks, Stevey

Yes, you can. Call Disney and ask to pay your remaining balance. I just did this about a month ago.

Have you thought about using a currency exchange card like Monzo or Revolut? You can exchange the currency whenever you wish and hold it in that currency.

Hi @Welsh_Dragon I have a Revolut card, but often nervous about using it as they are not covered by the FCA protection that most banks have. Though as it's not a big amount, may be worth chancing it.

As the previous posters mentioned, you have to call the payment in. If for some reason you need to cancel your trip you can still do so within 5 days and you will be refunded back to whatever card you paid with. If you pay with a gift card or some other prepaid card your money will go back onto that card so don’t throw it away.

You can! Alternatively you could buy (discounted if possible!) Disney gift cards when you feel the exchange rate is favorable and then pay for the room using the gift cards... that’s assuming your worst case scenario is rescheduling the trip and not outright canceling it.

You might do well to buy Disney gift cards to use for spending money too, if you catch a moment when the £ goes high. Who knows what will happen with Brexit, though! It’s been a surprise at every step of the way.
