We will be arriving at WDW in 3 weeks and have the regular DDP. My dd13 eats vegetarian but is not really adventurous with her food selection. Will we be able to use the DDP for everyone except her and pay oop for her a kids meal or just a couple of sides? How does that work with the bill - just tell the server when we order?

they will ask if you are on the plan and just tell them what the situation is..

My understanding is that everyone on your room reservation has to be on the dining plan? Did you not already add dining to your package?

We often do just this when we are on the dining plan. Our daughter is 14 now, so has been a Disney adult for 4 years and hasn't really wanted to eat like an adult. She often just wants soup or an appetizer for her meal. We let the server know which meals are on the dining plan and what we are paying oop for. We have never had a problem. Its the same as if we wanted to order anything else that wasn't included on the dining plan like special drinks or appetizers. They just bring a bill for those items and you can charge it to the room or pay with a card or cash. We are able to have more restaurant meals this way too when we stretch our credits this way.

Yes. Just let your server know which meals you will be paying for with the Dining Plan and which meal you will be paying for out of pocket.

As others have said, just let your server know that you will be using the DP for everyone's meal but hers. We do this frequently and have never had an issue. Sometimes it's not worth it to use dining credits for a particular meal.

Yeah, the easiest way to think about this is that as far as the restaurant is concerned, DDP is just another payment method, not significantly different from cash, credit card, room charge, etc. You can split a bill any way you like, and pay for each split with a different method.

Please keep in mind that if you go to a buffet you will be charged her credit whether she eats the food or not.
