Hi everyone.
We've decided to pay OOP for our food at Disney because no one is big eaters and we just can't justify paying for all that food again. Esp since we left 3 TS credits when we went on our first trip!

My question is this,if we go to any restaurant that offers a kids pick can any aged child,or adult purchase it? I'm on Allears and at Yak and Yeti CS they have a kids menu and that would be perfect for 3 of our 4 people, one of them is me,the others are 10 and 6. Can I order 3 kids meals and one entree for DBF?

From what I hear, I think it really depends up to the individual restuarant. Last year there was 5 of us eating at Kona Cafe. My friend wasn't very hungry, so she asked the server if she could order a kid's meal, and the serve said that was fine. The server did charge for my friend's drink, but not for my daughter's drink (drinks come with the meal), and that was fine, and expected. When I waited tables, our policy was, don't advertise a kids meal, but if a guest wants one, that is fine, but let them know that it wont come with a drink. I have heard some people say they were charged a few extra bucks, or even told no. It wouldn't hurt to ask!! I would be most places would be willing to let you order a kids meal.

I think especially at a counter service you can order anything you want especially when paying oop.I think when you pay OOp you can pretty much do anything you want with ordering

have done this before at CS places. TS we have done mostly character buffets, so obviously that is not an opton but I have never been told no to ordering a kids CS meal. They don't know who it is for anyhow. Different story if you have the DDP as the number of adults and kids is noted on your KTTW

I would think with TS, depending which one obvioulsy, that there is little difference between ordering an appetizer and a kids meal. I am going to try my luck with a kids meal at WCC OOP this year unless I am super hungry. I am sure that if they let me the servers there will have something to say about it though :lmao:

We are in the same group. OOP for meals. But, I wind up saving more going OOP. We share meals in problably most resturants. Never have we been told no. Some resturants will even serve it already divided. We have also bought kids meals and we don't have kids so have to request the kids menu etc.. . Sis does not like alot of foods [still very picky] so she prefers the kids choices too. Just always remember to tip as if you have 2 adult meals served. :thumbsup2

Don't worry about it, alot of people do both. Have a great time!:wizard:

Oh, good. DS14 eats everything, but sometimes the "cuteness" of kids meals will appeal to him. Good to know he can have it if he wants it.

Thanks so much for the replies! We aren't big eaters by any means so this is great news for me! DBF is on the Atkins diet and won't be eating much at the parks but will be eating his bars and I'm bringing stuff for him to make his lunchmeat wraps at the hotel. This def helps out with the budget :)

We've ordered kids meals at CS restaurants and we split meals at both CS or TS restaurants. Our biggest problem is agreeing with what we are going to eat. A lot of times if DD is with us, we end up ordering two meals to split between the three of us and that ends up being perfect. Especially places like 50's Prime Time where the portions are very large. Besides, if we split meals, we are not too full to snack later on. :goodvibes

My sister is an extremely eater. She even orders off the kids menu at California Grill.
