Paying OOP for child at QS?

We are headed to Disney in May and really want to make sure we get our money's worth out of our DDP. My question is at QS meals would it be smart to just pay out of pocket for the child's meal and save those QS credits to use towards and adult QS? Or can those credits only be used for a kids meal?
