Paying off your trip monthly.

I am in the beginning stages of booking a trip for summer 2011. I was wondering if I booked now through Disney is it possible to send monthly payments so that the trip is payed for before we go rather than paying for the whole thing a month before we go. I could do the savings myself here but I figured if I was sending it directly to Disney, I would be less likely to dip into the vacation fund. I am not sure if this is possible. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks so much!! :cool1:

I'm not sure how far in advacne WDW will let you pay on a trip...but what I ahve been doing is buying WDW gift cards, you can use them to pay off a trip adn can't dip into them! The only bad thing is, if you REALLY need the money, you can't use it.

Another option would be a CD...this way you put in an amount and can't touch it for 6mo or so....then you can renew it and keep doing so until your trip comes!

You can make a payment when ever you want to. There for a while I was sending in 250.00 each payday for our trip. Like you said, it makes it easier to stay out of that money. :)

Once Disney lets you book you can pay whenever you would like either online or by calling Disney directly. I usually pay a bit each time I get paid so its mostly paid by the due date... I also have purchased Disney gift cards and used those online and on the phone to pay on my trips.

That is how we do it so it's almost like a layaway we book 13 months and then pay every month makes it so much more aforrdable to us

Yep it's doable ~ we booked our 1st WDW trip when Free Dining for Disney Visa holders was available for booking last spring, we made monthly payments which made it very easy to afford, if you want to start saving before you can book your trip I suggest Disney Gift Cards *once you can book your trip you can use the gift cards to make payments online or over the phone ~they ship for free~ Disneyland GCs & Disney Store GCs work for WDW - https://tickets.disney.go.com/buy/T...l6mJ8fgwtlWEaK9PVDvzCugCh9AwKtgQgLHTJD4LeXevJ and http://www.disneystore.com/gift-cards/c/305800/ Also you can add $$ to a GC by calling DelivEars ~ 800-362-4533 you give them your debit/credit card # + the GC # that you're adding to and they mail you a receipt.

My husband likes to pay it off in small amounts also. He even puts money on gift cards. The gift cards are then used for food or shopping. In the future, we are thinking of using gift cards to make the deposit.

I always pay in advance this way. I usually call once a month and make a payment. I enjoy the trip that much more knowing I don't have a huge credit card bill for room waiting for me when I get home :thumbsup2

You won't be able to book a summer 2011 vacation until the 2011 packages and rates come out, which is usually in August. At that point, yes, you can book and pay a little every month, every week, as often as you want. You can even do it on the website - very easy! And if at any time, you get a discount PIN code or a general public deal is announced, you can call and see if you can apply it to your current reservation.

We too pay in monthly payments.
That way it is all done by the time we leave and we aren't leaving ourself stretched.
If it went into an account that I could easily access I am sure it wouldn't be paid as quickly.
With 2 kids I can always justify a new outfit for them, or a dinner out on a busy week night. This way the vacation money is untouchable and I am forced to work with a smaller incidental budget. Really makes me rethink whether I *need* a certain item.

I have a quick question - if you make monthly payments and then have to cancel your trip, will they refund all of your $?

I believe so as long as it is more than 45 days out. After that there are fees.

We pay ours $100 at a time over 6-8 months. It is really a wonderful way for us to do Disney pretty easily.

Nope. I was 6 months pregnant when I was supposed to go to Disney in 08 for Christmas. Everything was paid in full when I booked it. I started having early contractions & my dr said I could not leave. When I called Disney, they said that since it was 2 weeks from my arrival date, they would not refund me the money. This was over $2000! I explained my situation & they said after 45 days nothing is refundable. I cried for days.

Wow

I booked a trip for my cousin's family last summer. She found out she had to cancel the trip two before her arrival date. When I called CRO, they kept about $200.00 and refunded the rest.

I am so sorry to hear that. I can only imagine how awful that would have been!:sad2:

I was within the 45 day window when we had to reschedule just last month. They just took off a 50 dollar change fee and that was it.
Maybe because we were changing our reservation but not canceling?

Wow...

We are supposed to be at WDW now. :sad1: We aren't because I had to have an emergency surgery the end of December. I'm not doing as well as I'd hoped. My husband called last week and canceled. We were only 8 days away from arrival when he called.

Disney refunded all but $100. This was an over $3,000 package. I was told as long as you were 7 days out, they refund all but $100. If less than 7 days, they refund all but $200. If you make changes, it's $50.

As far as paying trip along...that's what we do!! :thumbsup2 I have a money market vacation account! :rotfl: Each paycheck, I deposit a certain amount into this account. We book our trips a year in advance...so that gives lots of time. Good Luck! I sure hope to go back soon.

I've been paying off $50 each week of my trip, it doesn't seem like that much that way, and it's already more then half paid off.

As others have mentioned depending on what you have booked (package or room only) and how far out you cancel, they will refund you your money less possible cancelation fees.
Please remember if you pay on your reservation using Disney Gift Cards be sure to keep the gift card! If you have to cancel Disney will ONLY return the money to the actual gift card used to pay.
