At the parks, do they take VISA gift cards or credit cards at the different snack kiosks? I'm sure they do but just checking. I'm thinking of instead of carrying cash loading gift cards with our budgeted money to pay for things. Just want to make sure before I do that this is an option.

Thanks...

All but a few vendors have the ability to accept credit cards and Visa GCs. I would definitely make sure that I brought some cash with me so that I'm covered for them as well as tipping at the airport, bell services and mousekeeping.

As long as it has a visa/mc logo you can use it anywhere that accepts visa/mc. I also don't know what kind of spending money you are taking, but there are limits to how much each one can have and they charge you money to load those. I would open a separate checking account and get a debit card. Then there are no fees and you can still keep the Disney money separate.

I actually did that. For the majority of the spending money I am putting it in there, but for food I want to have a separate VISA gift card to use for it so we can limit ourselves to not going totally crazy. I do have other cash though budgeted for tips and mousekeeping. Thank you for the response. I really wasn't totally sure. I'm just trying not to blow our budget.

If you're staying on-site, you can charge to your room-key and go every couple of days and use your Visa or giftcards to apply to the balance.

Cash, Disney Dollars, Travelers' Cheques, Credit or Debit Cards (with any of the following logos: American Express, Discover, Japan Central Bank, MasterCard, Visa), Stored value cards with any of the previously listed logos, Resort Room Key (KTTW), Disney Gift Cards, including the miniatures sold year-round at the water parks.

Some of the locations, depending on what they sell, may also accept wampum or cowrie shells. For these, check with the individual locations.

Where does one get a no fee checking account now a days? I know there are some you can get if you do a direct deposit, but my work wont let me split my paycheck up to go to different banks.

A lot of people here get a Target red card. Then they buy Disney gift cards and get 5% off the gift cards - if you fill five prescriptions at Target, you get 5% and they stack (sequentially, so it isn't quite 10%). Then they use those. Its a pretty good deal.

Credit unions are generally fee-free for checking/savings accounts. That's all I've ever used and never paid a fee for my checking account or debit card, no matter how many transactions I do.
