This is probably a dopey question, but here goes.
We are traveling with another couple in late November. I booked two studios, one for each couple, using my points. After running figures all morning, it looks like we're better off using ddp this time around.
I know we have to pay for that before we arrive. But the other couple wants to put the cost on their credit card. Obviously, they can't just call and have it added. Can I call, add the ddp to their reservation but use their credit card? Not sure how MS will handle a call from the member but using the other guest's cc. Any thoughts?

Well it used to work. When I have rented through David's before, the guest gave David's their CC number, who gave it to me, to pay for the DDP when added. They are 2 separate reservations, so you should be able to use their CC when you add the DDP to their reservation, and your CC when you add it to your reservation.

They could use their credit card to buy Disney gift cards, which you could then use to pay for the plan over the phone.

You can add the dining plan to their reservation using their credit card online. No need to call member services. Go into your DVC account, look under "my vacations." Pick their reservation, open it up and then click on the link for adding the dining plan. So easy :)

You can do a 3 way call or call when you're together. They might take it from you directly but they may not. I'm sure you know you could get the DP for one villa and not the other or different plans for each villa.

Yep, I knew that...but we're going to do the same type plan. Dh and I will just have an addtl day since we arrive a day before our friends. I'm hoping that my putting ddp on their reservation, with their cc, will work fine. I mean, it's no different than if, say David's, does it, right? They use someone else's cc. The reservation is in their name, it has their contact info, I just booked it using my points.
We won't be together until they actually arrive, and with a 3 hr time difference, a three way call is difficult. I don't think they can add it themselves, correct? Not since I booked the reservation.
