Paying for cruise with gift cards?

I was wondering if you can pay for a cruise with Visa Gift cards as opposed to Disney Gift cards. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you hold on to the cards, if any money is refunded to you it goes back to the original form of payment.

You can, but I don't believe you get any insurance coverage for doing this. I've never understood why people do this. You save a little money with the gift cards, but then you need to buy insurance. You could pay with a credit card that insures your trip and gives you points or cash back.
