For children under 3, you only pay the port charges. For our 2 year old on our upcoming 7 day eastern cruise the cost for the 2 year old was about 130.00. I can't remember the exact amount, but it was not much. I hope this helps some.
We have friends of the family that will be taking a 17 month old with them in March. I thought I read on the boards that you need to tip for your child. Can someone confirm this for me please. I don't think the child will eat dinner with them every night. Will that make a difference on how much they should tip in the end.
Thanks
Yes, the tip recommendation is for all ages. On our 7 day we tipped recommended amt. + per person, incl. our 7 grands 1-15. We only used the dining rooms in the evenings when our family met for dinner. Our servers definitely earn it!
Yes, you do pay port charges, which vary depending on which cruise you're taking. They'll be probably between $150 and $200. Also, the 2 year old WILL count towards the head count in the cabin you're trying to book, even if they will be sleeping in a crib. So, if you're a family of 4, you'll need a cabin that will hold 4 people, also if you are a family of 5, you'll need to book a category 4 or higher, or two lower category staterooms.
