I am considering using a TA for the first time ever for our upcoming trip. If I do this can I still make periodic payments like I do if I book myself thru WDW Reservations?

I booked through AAA and my final payment is due 45 days before we leave. I have the option of making payments before the 45 days are here.

Are you able to access your reservation online or over the phone the same as you would through WDW reservations or do you have to go to AAA to do it?

No, I have to call my travel agent. I can see the details of it on Disney's site, and I can make ADRs though. But any room requests or things having to do with the resort are taken care of through my TA.

I've booked with AAA for all of our trips, we have an awesome agent that will literally let me break the trip up into weekly payments, and bill my credit card every week. Hardly even notice, and before you know it, the trip is paid for! PLUS the AAA benefits are hard to ignore!

I haven't booked w/AAA before. What are the benefits?

You just send your payment information to your TA and your TA will send it to Disney. You can do this as often as you'd like or just one lump sum when the payment is due or anytime before that.

I'm not clear on all of them, but I know they give you some sort of savings card, you can try to get your TA to get reserved seating for Wishes, and there is some sort of storytime thing at Epcot (certain days). The storytime thing did not sound like a big deal. We saved money doing it through AAA (I think it was like $400) rather than the WDW site. I was told you get something with your travel packet from AAA before the trip (after you pay in full).

Also, if you show your AAA card at Earl of Sandwich in DTD, you get 15% off (which has nothing to do with whether or not you booked through AAA).

Oh, I also asked the TA what I would do if I received a free dining pin or there was a promotion of some sort. She said she would check and see which is the better price, AAA or the pin/FD price, and then adjust it accordingly.

AAA diamond parking, if you drive, puts you right next to handicap parking, and some parks, like Epcot and AK, that means parking same or closer than bus drops! We drive, so this is a big plus for us. AAA fireworks viewing, discount cards, arcade tokens, but hands down is the AAA Storytime. It's an exclusive perk WDW gives AAA members as a thank you for all the business AAA sends to them. You get exclusive access to a character, along with a story written especially for this event, and illustrated by Disney animators...then the character spends one on one time with the kids, you never feel rushed, they autograph a book mark, pose for pictures...it is always a highlight of our trips.

On our first trip, on way in to event, asked a cast member where to go, and upon hearing Storytime, another guest asked what it was, to which I replied it was a great event for AAA members, she demanded that the cast member tell her how much it was, she wanted to attend this "event" and I turned and said over my shoulder, "it's free for AAA guests, but you need a reservation" and she literally, kid you not, started stomping her feet, demanding to be let in, NOW, or else this would ruin her trip! Mind you, she had only heard about it moments before! Hilarious, and my wife and I still chuckle about it every time, as we walk in to the event.

That is too funny! LOL

thanks for the info - i was debating how to book my trip- now i'm thinking AAA might be the way to go!

We got the parking pass when we just bought a ticket at our AAA office. I just asked about it and the woman gave me one. The parking was very nice.
I think this is the way I will go. Book Room only reservations with my AAA discount until something better comes along and then as the trip gets closer I will buy our tickets at AAA, get the parking pass and have the tickets added to our KTTW card when we get there.
After I do all that I will pray daily for a spring discount. Anyone with me on that?
