Paying cash for BWV grand villa

I'm on the waitlist for the last night (Dec 1) of our 6 night BWV grand villa stay. I was wondering if Disney keeps one of the seven GVs for paying guests. Has anyone paid for a grand villa while keeping your name on the waitlist?

We were paying for a 2br and got upgraded to a GV one time. Now, take in to consideration that it was 9 years ago. Not sure that really answers your question - but I guess paying cash is possible.

No- none of the GVs will be "held back" for cash reservations, but if any are not reserved using points 60 days before arrivalm CRO will be able to offer a cash reservation.

You should ask if you can make a cash reservation right now - sometimes the villa may even be available with the 25% member discount - otherwise ask to be placed on the waitlist.

There are only 7 GV's at BWV, it's unlikely one will be unreserved. If you are already on the waitlist for points, I don't think it will be available for cash. Cash reservations through member services are only supposed to be available if it is anticipated that it will not be reserved for points.
