Paying Cash at Resort

Last time I went to Disney (2006) I brought a lot of cash haha. I was changing money to US to basically help save.
I would go every couple days and pay off the balance so that when I left I owed bare minimum.

So 13 years later I know they charge the room to my card, no biggy. But can I put so much cash on my "tab". So that when I spend money with my magic band they just take it from the balance instead of having to put various holds on my card? The dollar is dropping (sadly) and I wouldn't mind changing over some money now so that it's not as crazy of a hit when the time comes, as I don't see the dollar going up anytime soon :'(
Thanks!

As far as I know, they don't hold a credit balance on one's MB account; they simply bill the credit card you put on the band every fourth day or so, or when a certain credit limit is reached. Do any of the veterans here know if that's how they still do it? With me, I put a CC on my account when checking in, and when I check out they email me an itemized copy of my bill, which they have already charged to the CC. It has worked this way for me for many years.

They will not let you put money on your account in advance. You can only pay after charging to the room. But, you can go to the front desk to pay your balance every few days. Any balance will be charged to your card on the fifth day.

If you have a high enough available balance to deal with extra holds, your bank doesn’t flag for fraud because of the new way they do it, and you don’t check your account until a week after you get back, there will be no discernible difference between now and how they used to do it.

But, that is a lot of iffs.

OK, Wondering about the holds. They won't actually be charged right? (Sorry if this sounds stupid) I just don't want to be charged the exchange if I'm gonna be paying in cash mostly.

Holds shouldn't result in charges if you pay it off in cash before Disney puts the charge through.
