Just looking at the calender next year, and want to reserve 4 nights at HHI, and we want to pay cash for 2 nights there.

My Question: Can we pay cash on a THURSDAY night, and a Friday night?, or will it be too full on a regular weekday night?

We can make a ressie for Mon-Thurs and pay cash Fri, and Sat as well. I guess my question is do I make a ressie for Sun-Wed and pay cash Thurs,Fri or go Mon-Thurs and pay cash Fri and Sat.

Any help would be appreciated!!
Oh, and by the way it would be next July (middle to Late July).

Thanks!

As at all DVC resorts, it will depend on availability on the dates you want to request.

During the summer, weekday cash nights are usually only available well inside of 7 months (even if it's your home resort), since most nights (regardless of villa type) are reserved using points. Your best chance for a weekday cash reservation will be for a 2BR villa.

The weekends are your best opportunity for a cash rate, but it never hurts to call and ask.

Good luck!

I like to go in Sep for cash. The rates are low, plus I have never been turned down for the member discount in Sep. I can stay on the weekend. I don't like paying cash, but I went in april and I am going to WDW in dec. We promised my parents a trip to the beach with their new grandbaby. They are so excited. Anyway, if you want cash and can do Sep., then I am sure you will not have a problem.

ps. I called in june for my sep. cash rates.
As for points on thursday, I would use points on th. because it is so low compared to Fri. and Sat.

I would try to pay cash at HHI on Fri and Sat since those are the days of the week with the highest point values. A Friday night in August in a 2 BR is 66 points and a Sat is 99 points, the rest of the nights are 33 points.

When we were there a week ago, we were able to get a members' discount for a Sat night in a 2BR for approx $310. Even with the taxes it is still less than the cost of the maint fees for those 99 points.

I stayed at HH 8/1-8/6 at a GV, we also had a studio booked. We arrived at 10 am, and were surprised that all our rooms were available for occupancy. The CM noted our surpise and told us that there are a lot of vacant rooms on Saturday nights because of the points cost.

Thanks for the advise all. I think I may try to do the points for Mon-Thur in a 1 bedroom, and then cash Fri,Sat for the 1 bedroom.

When we were there last month (July), we had a 1 bedroom for cash on Fri,Sat, but were UPGRADED to a 2 bedroom for the same price as a 1 bedroom!!!!

I think the points are WAY TOO HIGH for Fri,Sat. Esp. on Saturday!!

Thanks again!

That they are, but I'm actually glad. Living in Atlanta, we see a lot of our friends and neighbors going to Hilton Head for a weekend (or a long weekend) during the summer months. If points were lower, we would probably do the same. That would make it much more difficult for people who want a whole week to reserve it.

I truly believe that DVC was originally set up to be for stays of a full week, like most traditional timeshares, and that the daily points were put in as a convenience. I'm sure Disney never dreamed that members would be moving out on weekends to save points! I wonder -- if with what they know now, the points structures would be set up the same way???

Also, you have to remember that if the weekend points were lowered, the weekday points would have to go up accordingly, so be careful what you wish for! ;)
