Could my parents booked the trip for me and only me and used their credit card to pay? Does the card holder need to be at check in? Curious cuz they have a Disney Visa and would love the 6 month payoff with no finance charge. Thankx!

In my expierence, no. My grandmother paid for a trip for me and I had no problems at check in.

I don't think it matters who pays for the trip. They typically do ask for a credit card upon check in though for room charges and in case their is damage to the room. It doesn't have to be the one that booked trip. I think they will also allow a cash amount to be set as a hold on the room if you don't want to put a CC on file when u check in.

Do online check-in. Will they allow you to charge to the room, too? You can choose yes or no on that option at online check-in too.

Last year we went to WDW with my MIL - her treat! :goodvibes
She booked the reservation under her name & address since she had a PIN and then had us listed on the reservation. I paid for the package with my Disney Visa card to get the rewards to use on the trip and then my MIL paid me back. We had no problems at all. And, I think my MIL left her credit card number with the front desk so we could charge to the room during our stay.

As others have said, anyone can pay for the trip....it doesn't have to be a cc in the name of the person taking the trip :).

You would only need to leave a cc (or cash, gift card, etc) at check in if you want room charging privileges; otherwise, nothing is needed as Disney does not require anything to be on file for anything other than room charging.

If you do online check in, and put the credit card on file for incidentals, then you don't even need to have it with you. All they do when I check in is mention that I have a Visa/Mastercard/Amex on file and do I want to use that card to cover incidentals, I say yes, and that's it.

Any time I have done regular check in at the front desk, I have been asked to produce a credit card or put cash on the room.

we've only been asked to put a card down/cash if the room keys had charging privilidges. In June, since we were splitting the room with DF's friend, we didn't want charging privilidges on the card, and we didn't put a card down nor were we asked to provide cash. when i did online check in, i declined to put a card in, and our KTTW said no charging privilidges on them. We weren't asked for a thing.

This is a request or question, not a requirement. You do not have to give a credit card or any cash at check in, either online or in person. Well, unless you need to pay your room balance on a room only reservation, then of course you have to pay your balance for that at check in. But other than that, you don't have to.

IIRC, room only doesn't count for the 6 month financing. Only if you book a package.

I reserved a hotel room for my son when he moved out of the dorm and was waiting for his dad to arrive to drive him home from school. I used my credit card. I called the hotel to make sure he would be able to check in, even though I had prepaid the entire bill for the two nights.

The hotel faxed me a sheet that I had to sign and give them all sorts of info to fax back to them so that he could stay and not have the credit card on him. You might call Disney Reservations and ask them what you would need.

In the past i have booked a trip for myself and my son with someone elses visa. The visa holder was not present at checkin. Nor did i leave a creditcard or deposit for incidentals at checkin. no hassle at all. thats why i love disney!

It's definitely not a bad idea to check, but Disney isn't as much of a problem with credit cards. I've had my parents put credit cards on file at other hotels, and it's a huge pain. Disney NEVER requires a credit card for anything.

OP: You shouldn't have any problem with your parents paying for the Disney hotel for you. As others have mentioned, the only issue is if you want to put a credit card on file for room charges, but you can use anything for that - debit, cash, gift card - so unless your parents are planning on paying for EVERYTHING, there's no problem there either.

in all my years not once did i leave a creditcard on file when checking in at a disney resort. They ask if i want to. i say no. they say ok thats fine. and off i go! it really is that easy! but try doing this at any other hotel outside of disney and im sure it wont be that easy.

OP you dont need to call disney. I do this all the time. Your parents pay for the trip with their card. you check-in without giving them a credit card, and voila. I've done the exact thing soooo many times.

Calling Disney, I'd say you have at best a 50/50 chance of being told the wrong thing. Goofyintoronto is right. No need to call and they just need to say they don't want charging privileges on the room card when they check in. As long as it's paid in full in advance, omissue.
