My credit Union doesn't offer free bill paying online. I am wondering who you all use or can say is reliable and safe. Doing a search and there are alot of companies out there. Putting all that personal information into these web sites makes me nervous. I want to jump on this bandwagon, but need a good, safe company and site to use. Do I need to buy software like Money? Thanks for any help here.

We pay almost all of our bills online, but we don't use a service to do it. Every business I owe money has a webiste, and most of them offer a way to make a payment from our checking account. We pay our mortgage, credit card, phone and electric bill this way.

Or we can have payments automatically deducted from our checking account. I make my car loan, cable and DVC dues payments via automatic deduction.

I don't think using the internet this way is any less secure than sending a check through the mail. And there's never any fees.

I pay online if the company I'm paying has a set up for that as it's always free. Most companies do take online payments. Right now I pay credit cards, electric & gas, cable TV & internet, mortgage and insurance bills online.

I've used Checkfree.com for over a year now. It's free and I haven't had one problem. I find the service just great!

I've thought about having payments deducted from our checking account, but with the way DH's pay fluctuates, I don't think it's possible. I never know what's going to be in the bank.

I'm with DVC Don and Jimbo. Basically if the company's website offers payment electronically, I do it. I also pay most things using our frequent flier credit card so that I get miles for it. I then just issue one electronic check to the credit card company each month.

I also use checkfree.com. And have not had a problem with it.

We use the online billpay through BankOne, where we have our accounts at. But, they send off a check for us on places that don't have online billpay available - saves us a stamp and effort. We just go in and mark the date we want it send off at, and they do it for us. We're the worst at getting checks in the mail in time.

Yeah, that's our problem too. I pay our bills online but I can't do the automatic pay part.......there are just too many variables for me to do it that way.

Otherwise, I've felt as safe doing stuff online as anything else. To be honest, of all the online stuff I do I've found my own bank to have the least secure "feeling" website. There's just something very crude about it I guess. LOL

I pay about half my bills on Wells Fargo bill pay. A few others I pay on their website & I have some automatic debit.
