I have a question, I know that I can pay for my balance of what I owe to my Contemporary Resort room when I get there, but can I pay with a money order for that amount? I know they take cash and credit cards, but I don't want to take that much cash and I don't use credit cards or have a checking account at present.

Not sure if they take money orders. You could always send a money order in and pay your stay off before you arrive. We usually do this with a check.

You can also call CRO, or guest relations-I'm sure you can find the number for them somewhere on these boards.

I would definately find out before you check in so you won't have to worry about anything.

Have you considered traveler's checks? If you don't feel comfortable sending in full payment ahead of time ask them if they will tak trav. checks at check in-you can get them at any bank I think and most of them are traceable and replaceable in case you lose them.

Hope this helps :D

I would go the Travelers Cheque route instead of the money orders. Not many places at WDW accept them.

I am hard pressed to understand why they would not accept a money order...BUT...to be safe...you may want to get a Cashiers check from your bank...(guaranteed...just like a money order)...
Just a thought....you could always give them a call to make sure!!
Have a great time.

If they accept MO for a deposit VIA mail, then I can not think of any reason why they couldn't/wouldn't accept at check in.

A possible reason might be that there would be time for the mailed deposit MO to clear before your arrival. If you present a bogus MO at check-in you very well may have checked out before it is detected.

That is exactly the reason! There are tons of different money orders people can buy and the merchant has no way of knowing if those are good or just stolen until days after it has been processed , there are not that many travellers checks companies and they are a lot easier to track down. The cost is about the same. I would go for travellers checks to be on the safe side.
