I am sure this question has been asked enough times that you are all rolling your eyes, but I am having some PC issues and cannot search.

Very Simple: Can you pay for meals at T-Rex Cafe with Disney Dollars?

That is an interesting question, but I would guess no since it is not "Disney owned"

Anyone else :confused3

I wouldn't think so either, but I'm pretty sure you can use Landry's gift cards

I wonder how the food compares to Rainforest Cafe. It is is like Rainforest Cafe, I will be totally disappointed next week.

I think I read somewhere if you wanted to do something like this you would need to charge the meal to your room (room key) and then use the Disney Dollars toward your room charges. Maybe someone else with experience doing this will come by and help out!!

That's what I had read as well, and what we are planning to do in September. I'd love to hear from someone who has done this.

I would call the restaurant directly and ask.

I called to see if I can use the Disney Visa Rewards card, and they said yes.

My other idea was to do what was previously suggested, charge the bill to your room then use the Disney Dollars to pay off your room charge.

We went two weeks ago and thought it was much better than Rainforest. Review to follow in link below!!!!

Food is so-so. I actually like the RFC menu better.
Stick to a salad or burger to avoid disappointment at T-Rex

I thought it was rather pricey once we left the sandwich part of the menu. Unimpressed with the meal. Food was not hot but portions were fine. Some of the flavors and seasonings will be "strange" for many people. My kids cruise so are exposed to some interesting menus and food combinations but were disappointed in the quality. (I'm raising little foodies here, :rotfl:)

Cool atmosphere though but you don't go for the food. My "little boy" was 14 and thought it was cool. As an observer I enjoyed watching other families have fun with their kids and the look on the boys' faces in that restaurant was worth it to me. So many princesses and girlie things at Disney--they really needed something like this for boys.

But again--don't go for the food. ;-)

Do you mean the Disney Visa credit card or the gift card from points earned :confused3

You can use the Visa card--but not points, because points are not "real money." Points/Rewards Dollars may only be used at Disney owned venues and this is Landrys.

I always put my points on my room and then charge back to my room. Fewer cards to carry too.

This is good to know!! We are tossing around eating lunch there on our last day instead of WCC for breakfast, but I was going to use my Disney Rewards card to pay. I'm glad T-Rex accepts that as a form of payment!!

Oh, crud. That changes things. Do they allow you to charge to your KTTW card even though they aren't owned by Disney? And then, I can pay off what I charged with my Rewards points? Is that the way to do it (if we want to pay with Rewards?)

The Experience of the T-Rex far out weights the food. But I have to say the T-Rex food was so much better the Rainforest. We have eaten at the RF locally and in Fla and it's what you would expect at a Fridays, Applebees, etc. In the Nov 08 we ate at the T-Rex twice, my children loved it that much! The 1st time we ordered dinner and it was okay, but the second time the adults just ordered apps and salads (which were mammoth size and yummy), the kids (7 - 1 years) ate the typical kids stuff, but would much rather just walk around and see the Dinosaurs. The Dessert (can't recall the name) just fantastic! Brownie, icecream, shooting out smoke. It's a fun place, especially for the boys, but the noise level is T-Rex size!
