Paying after due date

:confused3. I made a room only Ressie and had to pay 45 days out

Was it through a different part of Disney (RunDisney comes to mind) or a travel agency? I booked an AP room only through RunDisney as well as an agency magical deal room only and both have to be paid 45 days prior to check in.

Maybe there's more demand for the rooms in the dance program than Disney can accommodate and they have a waiting list for them w/ people able to pay on time?
I've always read that Disney works w/ people re: late payments, but maybe they've changed this policy - especially where there's more demand than they can meet, like at the values.
Or maybe the CM OP spoke with was new and didn't know about the normal practice.

Guest Services forwarded my message to another department. I am supposed to hear in the next few days. I have certainly received options and opinions. Thank you all for the ideas. I will just do my best to pay as much as possible on time. It's 2/3 paid and I will get the rest paid asap.

I completely understand that it is a business. I simply asked in the email if they would please not cancel my reservation because I am going to pay it. I just don't know if I can pay the entire amount I owe on Dec. 8th. That's it, the CM on the phone was very polite and nice. I certainly do not mean to insinuate anything different. It is just very disheartening when trying your absolute best to make it work out and unexpected things happen. That's all just hoping for a smidge of pixie dust.

Pixie Dust does not pay Stock Dividends.
Disney is first and foremost a business. Their cancellation policies are published and consistent.
I hope they are able to help you, but as others have said, they are under no obligation to do so.
Good Luck

There really ought to be a smiley beating a dead horse :joker:. I completely understand that Disney is indeed a business and paying late does not create stock dividends. Thank you to everyone that has replied with those answers. I have no sense of entitlement and I am cognizant of the fact that it is not Disney's problem that I am having financial issues. I was merely wondering if anyone had been in this situation. I am supposed to hear back regarding the issue. I will not post any further on this subject as it appears the answers are repetitive. I merely thought that guest services might be willing or able to work with me being as I am going to pay the final amount. I wasn't attempting to get anything for free simply asking Disney not to cancel my reservation on the 8th. "Pixie Dust" referred to was simply understanding not a free ride. I have been going to WDW since I was a child and will continue to gopixiedust:

Meh, I don't think they mean no ill. People like the person right before you probably just do not read the whole thread to see others state the exact same thing (over and over and over I might add).

If 2/3 of your trip is paid, they will not cancel it.

We had this issue, too. We received an email from them stating that if we didn't pay 15 days prior to arrival, the trip would be cancelled. This was just back in September of this year. We paid before that date and everything was fine.

Something must have triggered it to be a package as only package reservations are due 45 days out.

I booked room only thru Disney BUT did link my tickets-does that make it a package?

I would have rather paid rest at check in! Thanks for the info

This is the email we got yesterday. Our 45-day due date was November 6th.
Payment must be received at least 14 days prior arrival.
Our package was about $4,800. We're maximizing fuel point by paying with Disney gift cards, but since you have to use them within the next month, we've spread it out a little to not waste any of the fuel point we gotten so far. Now, Safeway is offering $10 in grocery credit for every $100 gift card transaction starting Friday, so we'll buy twelve $100 gift card, plus get points on fuel, and will end up with about $50 worth of fuel points and $120 in Grocery credit. That's 12% off that portion of our Disney trip!
