Paying a Pet Sitter

For two weeks, I'd say $100. I know it sounds like a lot, but compared to what a "real" petsitter will cost, it's a bargain. Now... if the girl lived next door and didn't have to drive (which I'm assuming is not the case since you mentioned her mom would be coming too) I think you could get by with paying a lot less.

Our catsitter charges $17 per visit, and unfortunately she has to come TWICE a day because one of our cats is diabetic and needs insulin shots. It is super expensive, something we have to budget for when we take vacations.

The 17 year old girl next door came over twice a day for eight days to feed our two cats and puffer fish. She also cleaned out the litter box. We had not set a price before hand and when we gave her $115 she was thrilled! She thought she'd get about $40.

She did a great job and it was worth it. We travel a lot so it's a good relationship to foster.
