I know it's been suggested to but the wrist gift cards to pay at the kiosks, but can you pay with MBs eliminating the need for giftcards?

As of last year, you could not use MagicBands yet, but that was in the middle of the roll-out to all Disney resorts anyway. I haven't heard officially, but I would be shocked if they do not offer payment by MB this year.

Yes you could. I used one at the end of October and in November. I hit the first day of MB rollout at Saratoga Springs at the end of October.

And yes you will be able to pay with your band. You will need to enter the PIN number whenever you use it, but you never have to take the band off your wrist, so it is easier than the wristband gift cards - you must remove the gift card and give it to the CM to scan, then put it back on.

Gift cards are fine if you want to keep a budget because you can load it with a certain amount and not go over that, but if you dont' really care about limiting how much you spend, the Magic Band is the new word in easy.

And prior to MagicBand roll out, touch to pay using an RFID enabled KTTW card was available.

I was on the dining plan last year and used my MB. I did go back and check my folio from Oct but it looks like I didn't pay for anything on my MB OOP

Oof, sorry I was wrong! We were there in early/mid-October. Now that I'm thinking more about it, I think we could use the MB with the DDP snack credit (or OOP if we wanted), but we wanted to set aside money specifically for the F&WF and not overspend so we decided to use the gift cards anyway. We should have used our snack credits though, because we ended up having a bunch at the end.

We used our MB's last year at F&W (Oct 19-25, 2013).

We used MB's last year at F&W for our snack credits to be deducted. We also used to the gift card wrist band for additional purchases to drinks, etc. We're not big on charging to our MB. I feel I have more control of my spending if I'm on more of a cash basis.

You can use your MB ONLY if you are staying onsite.

If you are a day guest-- no you can not use your bands

We used our MB for room charges at F&G outdoor kitchens a few weeks ago, so I'm sure F&W will be good to go, too.

As the PP said, though, this is for room charging for Disney resort guests. You can't put a gift card or credit card on a MB that isn't linked to a resort stay.

We used our MagicBands to charge for items at the Flower and Garden Festival stalls in March :thumbsup2

Yes, it only works for guests who can charge back to their room.

I know there are those who stay onsite but prefer not to charge back to the room at all; they can't use MBs to pay for things either.

I was there in early October of last year, with no dining plan, but with MB's. I charged a couple of F&W items to my room using my MB.

DOH! Well I forgot about that. Yep, checked my folio from March. I charged to my room with my MB for F&G kiosks. Was not on a DDP, paid for everything OOP.

We definitely charged on our MB last year. It made it way too easy to spend way too much $$$$.:rolleyes1

That's great to know. We are stating onsite so that's one less thing I'll have to worry about :) Looking forward to our first foray into the F&WF!:rotfl:
