Pay stubs

Do you keep your paystubs? If so, how long do you keep them for?

We don't get paystubs anymore. They're all available online. Which was really handy when we were buying a house. It made it really easy to find them.

I keep them in a drawer at work. Don't know how old they are.

I don't keep them. I rip them up (one time I ripped the check instead of the stub - oh oh). Anyway, I am the controller where I work, so they are in a cabinet right behind me if I need them.

I used to keep them forever, what a waste. I think if I did not have ready access to them, I might keep them until I got my W-2 for the year - just because I am a little bit of a pack rat.

I think someone should keep at least the last couple of check stubs, especially if you are considering applying for a loan, applying for public assistance of some sort, or going through a divorce / child support proceeding. You would not believe the number of people in the middle of doing those things who come to my office looking for copies.

Forever. I keep everything..........bills, credit card offers, statements. DH burned a bunch before we moved in a backyard pit, and then bought a shredder, but I never use it.

My Shredder is my best friend .I have burnt up a few.

We can still get them on-line if needed so I feed the beast with them right with all the CC offers I get.

I tried to get them to stop sending them all together but they said they couldn't.

I read em and rip em. Of course, I work in HR so I can get my hands on them if I need to.

I shred them at the end of the month (ours are available online as well but we still get a paper copy). I don't get paper bills anymore with everything done online and paid automatically so I don't keep those either. My file cabinet is pretty empty!

I don't keep much...I love my shredder If I need pay info. I can run a report here at work and print it off so no need to keep hard copies laying around.

I used to keep them for a year, but now we don't actually get the hard copy anymore. I agree with another poster... now that I have access to them online it's easier to find what I need.

Just for the tax year then I shred them.

I get my stub on Thursday morning and Thursday at 4pm I am home and it is in the shredder.

Give them to DH who keeps them until we get the W-2 form in the mail at the end of the year. DOn't have to worry about the check. Direct deposit.

I dont keep them. I print the checks were I work. I know where to get a copy if I need one. LOL
