I have just read on another thread about pay per bag. Was going to put the question there but didn't want to hijack the tread like I seem to do quite regularly :lmao: .

We are arriving by Eurostar (but not being from the UK are not allowed to use the Disney Express sevice, which is fine, we will take our bags), but what is this pay per bag? Can it be used from the station to the hotel when you arrive (hotel new york)?

We are not travelling back to the UK, we are continuing on our European vacation and we are taking a TGV train which leaves around 8am in the morning from Gare de Lyon. So we have to get the RER to Gare de Lyon to catch this, what time does the pay per bag service start in the morning or is this service only for Eurostar trains? and does anyone know what time the RER starts from Marne la Vallee on weekday mornings?

If our TGV leaves around 8am (can't remember exact time of train but it is around that, maybe a bit after so if we are there for 8am), I suppose we should be there about 7am to get from the RER platform up to the TGV platforms, is an hour enough time or way too much? Does anyone know if we have to check in on the TGV (we have the tickets) and have to be there early like the Eurostar or can u just arrive say 5 to 10 mins before departure and get onto the train?

I am trying to work out what time we would need to leave Marne la Vallee to get to Gare de Lyon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :goodvibes . I guess we will have time to find all of this out when we are there and hopefully the concierge at Hotel New York can offer some assistance, but I just like to be organised and have a plan in place before travelling.

Thanks :goodvibes

I don't think the pay per bag would work for you, as I'm pretty sure it's for the Direct Eurostar train that leaves early evening.

I am not aware of a similar service from the Eurostar to the hotel, sorry.

As you need to catch an early train, I think the only option for you is 'drag it yourself', the upside is that it's only a short walk through Disney Village from HNY to the station. Or, if you have a lot of luggage, you could take it on the shuttle.

The pay per bag service at the train station at Marne la Vallee is a left luggage office. Its available to anyone at all, you don't even have to be going on a train to use the service. They only store your luggage for you, they don't deliver it anywhere.

As to the RER, no, you don't have to be there early to check in on that. I use the TGV to get back to CDG, and you only need to be there 10 minutes or so before the train is due to leave (on the main concourse they list which platform each train will leave from, so you just head to the platform and board the train when it comes in).

I don't know anything about Gare de Lyon I'm afraid, so I can't help you with how long you should be there before, to catch your TGV.

I think the OP was referring to the service I mentioned in another thread, where you can pay to have your luggage transferred from the hotel to the Eurostar, it's so much per bag (as oppose to per person).

Useful if you've booked Disney hotel and Eurostar separately and don't want to fork out £15 per person, for just one bag, to get it back to the Eurostar on departure day!

Ah sorry Annette, I must pay more attention  .

So is it down to the hotel to sort this out for you? And can it be done from any hotel? I hadn't heard of this service at all until you posted about it :thumbsup2 .

Thanks Annette and Elaine so much for your replies.

Yes I was talking about from the Hotel New York to the station to catch the RER.

It's just that we are travelling from Australia for a month, so we do have quite a bit of luggage. So we have a large suitcase and wheel along cabin bag each (required for long flights from Australia, so have to have it and it wont fit into the suitcase) , so unfortunately DS has to drag his own big suitcase and cabin bag, so I just go excited at the thought of a little rest :rolleyes1 carrying luggage with this service. I know that we have to take our own bags around the station but we are meeting up with a lot of my family in Paris and all travelling to Switzerland together for Christmas so we will have a few adults to help with luggage on the train, then off the train, then onto another train, then off that train, then onto the final train and off that before we arrive at our hotel  Sorry, slightly OT there.

Anyway I really appreciate both of you taking the time to reply. :goodvibes

It was a service we booked at the SQL the day before we departed, but I think it can be done from any Disney Hotel, sadly not the off site ones though. Presumably they just lump your luggage in with the Disney Express stuff.
