Just wondering how many of you "pay it forward".
I totally believe in doing this.
Examples of what our family has done:
1. Leaving one park to head to another park we have given our double stroller (back when the kids were that age) to someone with kids walking up to rent one.
2. Paid for a guy's coffee who was in line behind me at Kona's coffee bar.
3. We have brought a bag of those glow sticks and shared them with kids around us at the fireworks.

We would like to do something similar this year's trip. Does anyone have any other ideas to "pay it forward"?:tinker:

We did the glow sticks this year, there was a little girl beside us waiting in MSEP and I gave her a few glow bracelets.

Also, we gave away some pins to some little kids, we do pin trading religiously and started the trip with about 250 pins to trade, we gave pins to a few birthday girls. My dd was at the character spot in Epcot and gave some princess pins to a little girl. A CM saw her and gave her a little card with a sorcerer mickey pin attached to it that said "thanks for helping us make magic"

Last year I had 4 FP's to Soarin that we weren't going to use because we were tired. As we were headed toward the front of the park I looked for a family that looked as if they were just entering.

I found a family of 3, Mom, Dad, and a girl between 9-11. I asked them "would you like these?" Thier reaction was so genuine and thankful, that it made me tear up. The were worried because the Marquee sign said that the wait was over an hour. They said they wanted to hug me!!! The Mom and girl looked like they coul cry!!! It was so sweet and felt so good to make someone so happy! I practically teared up myself!

I got to save the extra FP for my scrap book, and now I remember that moment everytime I look at it!!!

We also got "general FP's" when Pooh broke down the evening of MVMCP, but it was our last night there, so I gave them to a family on the bus that night.

I always buy an Entertainment Book for Orlando and when we leave we either give to a family checking in or leave it in the nightstand drawer for the family that checks in after we check out. Also there is a Bonnet Creek Pay it Forward thread we have used.

We gave fp to tsm last trip the family were thrilled. I used dining credits I didn't need on check out day to buy breakfast for a family. A family had done it for us during the week:)

Wait - you gave away your own stroller, or you let someone else use a rental stroller without paying for it? First scenario is super-generous wow, second one is illegal, as it is a stroller for hire, and not yours.

In January, DH & I were about to get in line for Soarin when a man and his daughter came up to us and gave us 2 fastpasses that we could use right away! :cool1:

In April, it was our last park day and we were leaving AK to head to the airport. We brought a stroller for DS6 on this trip, but we knew it would be the last time we'd use it. So, as we were heading out of the park, we found a family with a little girl and asked them if they wanted it. They were thrilled!

My DD's were playing the Sorcerer card game in the park, it was our first time doing it so they each only had 1 little pack of cards and this boy came up to us and said "here would you like these?" it was a HUGE stack of cards!! I asked if he was sure and he said, "yup I've beat them all" it was wonderful.

I have one of those official guide to disney world books that on my last trip I planned to leave in the hotel room for the next guest but I forgot!
I plan on doing it this trip :thumbsup2

We also left behind some bottled water for the next guest.

Oh no, it is?? We were planning on doing this with our rented stroller each day since we heard that people do this to spread the magic.
I know that Disney would rather you didn't do it since it is less money for them but ILLEGAL????

Didn't know it was "ILLEGAL"

We did the FP thing too. We had FP for Peter Pan but it was during an ADR so we have them to another family. They were so happy :-)

I have done the fast pass as well and the joy that I saw on the people
s faces was priceless...I am sure there are more ideas out here, so keep them coming...love this idea:)

If you don't get another stroller for free at the next park, the new guest just got your continued reservation on the stroller. But if you took the name card with you and got another stroller at the second park using the first receipt/rental, you just cost Disney the price of a rental.

If you leave books etc in the rooms wouldn't mouse keeping throw them out?

Yes. If you leave things in a hotel room mousekeeping or houskeeping will clean the room and remove your personal belongings. They will not assume the next guest wants your stuff.

Years ago I used to see fridge swap threads here on the DIS but I notice they've vanished.

I also read a story of a family, who upon check in was approached by another family who was checking out and asked if they would allow their daughter to have the balloon that they had bought at the beggining of their own trip, since they couldn't take it home on the plane. The family who received the balloon then passed it on to someone else at the end of their trip too! (not sure how long those things usually last, but I think we may do this on our trip as well.);)

We gave away FP to TSM, and some pixie dust pixiedust:fell on us the following day.
Gotta love 'pay it forward' ...it usually comes right back at you !

My DH loves to give trading pins to kids. This year we are going in December. I have a whole box of stuff I'm shipping down. Small tree and some decorations, small stocking, window clings and other holiday items (all Disney). When we check out I will put most of it in a gift bag along with some pins. I will hand off to a family checking in. That way I don't have to bring everything back.

Oh c'mon, give me a break! I have offered my stroller many times. Somehow I don't think I'm going to jail.

Great idea, but I wonder if housekeeping is allowed to leave it for the next guest?
