Pay for the dining plan with gift card?

Can we pay for the dining plan at check in with a gift card? We have to buy Scrip for our girls' school, and I didn't know if I could get $1000 worth and use it for that (obviously I don't want to be stuck with $1000 of Disney gift card money if I can't - dh would KILL me- lol!).

We received a Disney Gift Card for a DVC referral. I sent an email to DVC inquiring if I could use the balance of the gift card towards payment of the dining plan and was advised yes.

Question - Is it possible to prepay for the dining plan before arriving? Does online check-in provide an option to pay for the dining plan?

The dining plan cannot be prepaid at DVC. It must be paid at check in.

Yep you sure can. We paid part of ours this past march with a gift card we received for doing an add on. We had no problems at all. I wish we could pre-pay for the DDP also but unfortunately we cannot.

We have also used gift cards and rewards credits to pay for the DDP and room charges.

I go through script too for my Disney cards. I take at least $2000.00 with us in Disney cards and charge everything to the room and pay it off when we leave. I also pay my annual dues with gift cards.

Me too!! Love being able to use SCRIP for Disney gift cards...that way dd gets money towards her fine arts stuff in school and my dining/misc stuff is paid for without running up a huge credit card bill. Great way to save throughout the year!!! I use the gift cards with no problems.
