I read in someone else's post that they were able to pay extra per person to have a few more people at their Intimate wedding. Does anyone know if this is still possible??? We have about 2-3 extra family members that we would like to be there and would be willing to pay extra for. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!

as of 2006 paying for extra guests is no longer an option for intimate brides. the intimate package has since been changed to allow 18 guests plus the bride & groom for a total of 20 tops. you could always ask your em though.

I heard that also. I was told if I reached past 20, intimates would now have to go custom. Like twojo21 says though, it's worth a try to ask your EM.
I think a lot of intimate locations would also only accommodate upto 20 guests, some locations being less than this. The pavillion holds more, but also costs more too.

Thanks for all the info. I kinda figured it was a long shot, but I guess there's no harm in asking!! I'll let you know what I find out! Thanks again!!

Hailey-

I would not get too excited about doing this - I was told by my EM that in no way can an Intimate go over 20 people including the bride and groom.

We are a Wedding Pavillion couple and even though the WP can hold many more than 20, the reception area, the Commanders Terrace at the Grand Floridian, is still very small - in fact, they warned us about it being tight for space for 20 - even though 7 of our 20 are children. :crowded:

The old Intimate was a limit of 8 guests plus bride and groom and you could add extra people for $100 each - this is no longer an option.

It's worth asking, but please don't plan, even a little bit, until you have an assurance in writing that an exception is okay.

So, does this mean I can have 15 guests at my Intimate without paying extra for those over 8? If so whoopeee!

Well, yes and no ;)

Talk to your EM, or review the information on the website. I think the only real "additional" cost would be for champagne and wedding cake. The bottle of champagne that is included really only serves 4-6 people. And I think the "new" cakes were supposed to be smaller (can someone confirm this?) and only serve 4-6 people. So...if you want all of your guests to share in the champagne toast and have a piece of your wedding cake, there would be an extra charge to provide those things...does that make sense? But I think, in the long run, those costs probably aren't as bad as the about $100 they charged to add guests before.

I spoke to my EM this morning and asked a few of these qestions... So maybe this will help...

No, as an intimate wedding, only 20 people are allowed (18 guests plus the bride and groom). If you have 21, you will have to go custom. You can no longer pay to have extra.

As for the cake and champage, the cake is large enough for 20 people. Therefore, you don't have to pay to increase the size of the cake. However, if you change the cake at all, there is an additional fee. The smallest cake is for 50 people, so you are looking at around $500 and up...

With the champagne, DFTW does require that everyone have something to toast with at the C&C reception. If you choose champagne, it is around $63 a bottle. You can choose sparkling cider or juice, but every guest is required to have something to drink. (Cider is around $22 a bottle).

Hope this helps.... :wave2:

You can trade the bottle of champagne for 2 bottles of sparkling cider. Also, soda is an option & is charged per consumption at about $3.50/can.

Yes, your intimate wedding can consist of 20 people- of course that includes the bride and groom in the count. Also don't forget that any breathing being is considered as a guest and counts for 1 person- for example an infant that is 1 week old is considered a guest.
