Pay balance early?

We are renting a WH condo in January. I have paid the 25% deposit with the remaining balance due 30 days before arrival. Has anyone paid the balance early? I have the money available, but don't know if it is a good idea to pay before it is due. I have a good feeling from the owner that everything is legit. Thoughts?

why pay early? put the money in a short term gic account won't give you much interest but it's yours.

plus if you ever have to cancel you don't have to try to get it all back and if the worst happens and he isn't legit all you'll loose is the deposit not the entire thing.
