Friday 21st September
Today we had a late start since we were going to MNSSHP in the evening and would be late to bed. We caught the Disney bus to MK at approx 10.30 and after going through bag check we sauntered up Main Street, like you do, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of the most magical place on earth.
Our initial destination was the Haunted Mansion, followed by everyones favourite, Its a Small World. With the dreaded song now firmly stuck in our heads we picked up a Fastpass for Peter Pans Flight and went round the corner to Columbia Harbour House for lunch where we had the usual Galley Salad & Apple Crisp each.
After being suitably fed and watered we used our Fastpass on Pan and did most of the attractions in Fantasyland including Pooh, Mickeys Philharmagic and Snow White. We were heading towards Tomorrowland and on route we stopped at the Enchanted Grove where we tried the Strawberry Swirl, it was yummy!
On entering Tomorrowland we rode the TTA, had a laugh in the Laugh Floor, watched Stitch escape, revisited times gone by on the Carousel of Progress, blasted off to space on Space Mountain and battled the evil emperor Zurg on Buzz. I was jammy again and reached the high score of 999,999 for the second time this week, Ruth wasnt amused.
It was now around 5pm so we headed out of the park for our ADR at Kona Café at the Polynesian resort.
Ruth had the Kona Salad to start
followed by the Herb-Roasted Turkey Medallions
and the White Chocolate Cheesecake for dessert.
I went for the Sticky Wings appetizer
followed by Beef Teriyaki
and the Kilahuea Torte to finish.
The meal was delicious and we will definitely be going back on our next trip.
When we returned to the MK it was almost time for MNSSHP, so we got our wristbands and headed towards the Jungle Cruise. Id just like to say that we didnt dress up on this occasion but so many others did and their costumes looked great you could tell that a lot of work had gone into them. We followed the cruise with another on Pirates of the Caribbean then did Big Thunder Mountain (always more fun at night).
It was almost time for the parade so we snagged a spot at the start in Frontierland. The parade was brilliant, accompanied with some very catchy music, the Headless Horseman did a fantastic job riding the parade route with no head.
We watched Hallowishes from the rose garden and the parade again on its second outing of the night. In amongst the parades and fireworks we managed to get quite a collection of candy in our trick-or-treat bags from the various locations around the park.
We managed to catch the last Villains show of the night
By now it was going up for midnight so we had a look in the shops on Main Street while the crowds died down before heading to the resort, it was about 1am when our heads hit the pillow.
