Monday 24th September

Today we are going on the Undiscovered Future World tour at Epcot. The day began with a wake up call from Stitch at 7am, after a light breakfast we headed to Epcot arriving at 8:15am. We entered the park after giving our names and proceeded up to Guest Relations to check-in. We were given name badges and were told to wait in the area. Just before 9am our guide arrived and we were given headsets and the tour began.

The tour takes you around all the Future World pavilions with visits many backstage areas not normally seen by guests. Highlights included a visit to the sponsor lounge in the Mission Space pavilion, a chance to go upstairs in the Imagination pavilion and viewing the illuminations barges backstage.

When I booked the tour Ruth wasn’t to keen, but she really enjoyed it and says it is better than the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK.

The tour lasted about 4 hours with restroom stops on route and a coffee break at Seasons and finishing at the China pavilion. We decided to have lunch at the Lotus Blossom Café, I had the Orange Chicken while Ruth had the Sesame Chicken Salad and we both had the Caramel Ginger Ice Cream for dessert.

After eating we watched the Reflections of China circlevision film and the headed out of Epcot and over to Disney MGM Studios for the rest of the day. We arrived just in time for the parade and got a spot on Hollywood Blvd.

After the parade we decided to get out of the sun and watch Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. Ruth is a big Harrison Ford fan and absolutely loves this show.

After we left we managed to catch a little bit of the new High School Musical 2 show which Ruth enjoyed, before heading to the Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre for our dinner ADR. The restaurant was busy so we had about 30 mins to wait before we were seated, we were seated in the back of a car with a family sat in front.

I went for the BLT Soup to start

Ruth had the Onion Rings,

she also went for the Butcher Steak and decided on the Cheesecake for dessert

Although the food is quite expensive for what you get, the atmosphere is brilliant and the mini films are sooo cheesy.

After dinner we headed off to do Narnia and One Man’s Dream. By now it was time to head up for Fantasmic, we wandered up to the Hollywood Hills Amphitheatre and managed to get a good seat near the front (but not too near). I managed to get a bucket of caramel popcorn (I am not keen on the salted stuff that you normally get) and waited for the show to begin. As always Ruth gets emotional as soon as Mickey appears.

The show was brilliant, and is one of our favourites. After the show we waited for the crowd to thin out before exiting and heading back to our room & bed.

Tomorrow – Universal Studios.

Your Undiscovered Future World tour at Epcot sounds great Paul, could you tell me how much it costs ?

Another great day :)

The tour costs $49 per person (minimum age 16) and is well worth the money, it is available on Monday, Wednesday & Friday morning at 9am. If you would like more details, just let me know.

Thanks for that Paul, it looks like I'll have to wait a year or two till youngest DD is 16 :thumbsup2

Another great report with lovely photos.

Your photos are amazing and make me feel like I am there.

Thank you so much

I can't believe we still haven't seen Fantasmic. Your pictures are great - this is definitely a 'must do' for us next trip.

The tour sounds very interesting. We haven't been to the Sci-Fi for a while, the food looks a lot nicer than last time we were there. I always get emotional in Fantasmic too - but it is the princess floats that do it to me!
