With a husband on active duty, I get so upset :furious: when I read about those demonic people who protest at soldier's funerals. The Patriot Guard is a wonderful group who deals with them, until every state drafts legislation banning the protestors. Here's an article from today's Free Press:

Just wanted to say that I saw something on Good Morning America last week. First time I ever heard of it. I don't care what your feelings are about the war, but to protest at a funeral is just revolting. I am surprised that this hasn't turned violent. I can't even imagine why anyone would feel they have the need to protest at such a time. Very sad.
Blessings to your family. My Nephew is on tour in Iraq now. I pray for everyones safe return.

What is even more strange, its not about the war, its about gays in the military. I am so glad that our state passed legislation to make this a felony.

A local died in Iraq and his funeral was this past Saturday. The state of Maine had alot of reinforcements there. Police protection, orders for them to stay off the school property. Then a wonderful group of patriots that ride motorcycles came too. They were going to surround the school so the family or friends could not hear their garbage. This turned out that they decided (this religious) not to come and went to two other soldiers funerals...
Yes we need to have freedom to be able to state our opinions...BUT not at the expense of poor familys and friends that are mourning their loss and burying their love ones

From the article:
The protesters, from a fundamentalist church in Topeka, Kan., held signs in support of the death of U.S. soldiers. They say the soldiers died fighting for a country that is accepting of homosexuality.

It's just disgusting. Thank goodness for the Patriot Guard trying to protect those grieving families. I swear... this anti-gay hysteria gets worse every day. :( And all in the name of God and the Bible. Yeah right. If hell exists, there's a special place in there for members of the Westboro Baptist Church.

One can only hope :furious: .

I wonder, do these people all live in the same area? How horrible it would be to have them as neighbors.

Who the hell do these idiots think they are? They actually think they are being good Christians by doing this??

I would love to see those three show up and see all of Patriot Guard members there. It must have been a site.

I wonder if there is a way to get in contact with the Patriot Guard. I would be proud to donate to their cause.

the day before yesterday a funeral for a soldier from 4th infantry division was held here(colorado springs). The young man was well loved in this community and this is a military city ( large army post, 3 air force bases and the AFA). The local country station proposed a silent support for the family-not to get in these peoples faces-just to be there-over a 1000 people showed-and the church of what ever stupid doctrine went silently home. That is how it should be.

Here is their website http://www.patriotguard.org/ I'm not sure if they take donations but I think they're a great group and if they ride to a funeral in my area I'll be right there with them! :moped:
