Patrick Swayze has died

I remember watching Dirty Dancing in 5th grade at a friends house....oh the trouble I would have been in if Mom found out. I fell in love with Patrick Swayze then and loved many of his movies. I shed some tears for him tonight as I am truly saddened by his passing. :sad1:

I am saddened by the news~
Although everyone loves him for his role in Dirty Dancing (how could you not?)
one of my all time favorite movies is Ghost.
I will keep his family in my prayers...

DH told me the news this morning. I cried. :sad2: He was a good actor and he was so optimistic. I am saddened by his passing.

It is so very sad. Patrick fought a very brave battle.

I lost my husband (age 55) last year to pancreatic cancer and I can tell you first hand that it is a horrific disease.

So sad. He was a brave fighter. I met his mom when I was a little girl at a Dance Convention that she taught. I remember how fondly she spoke of him. She told a story about when he was filming Point Break and how he nearly got to close to the top of a helicopter and didn't tell her until afterwards and how she was so angry with him for being so "dumb". I don't remember exactly how she put it, but it was funny and warm and expressed such a loving side of their family. He will be missed.

Patrick has always been one of my favorite actors, in "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" but even more as Ory Main in the mini-series "North & South."

I remember when we were walking in Nashville, and came upon all the stars handprints in the outside wall of the Hardrock Cafe. I saw Patrick Swayze's and put my hand in his handprint. He had big hands!!

I hope his wife will finish the book they were working on together.

I have been watching the SNL Chippendales audition skit with Chris Farley - that was the best. I'll so miss him. :sad1:

:sad1: he had alot of class & always seemed so regular, not many like him around these days.

:sad1:

So sad. Even though I knew it would get him in the end, it is still heartbreaking when it happens. He had a wonderful career, and most astonishing, a long happy marriage of 34 years, a rarity in Hollywood.

His spirit of fighting the good fight reminds me of Randy Pausch, who also had pancreatic cancer and, like Patrick, refused to give up and continued to really LIVE his life, right up to the end.

So sad that many here have lost loved ones to this horrible disease. A friend and co-worker of mine currently has inoperable pancreatic cancer.

Poor Whoopi on The View today. She was so sad, she had to stop several times and couldn't talk. :guilty:

Yes! That is the first role I saw him in and fell for him! I even remember keeping that issue of TV Guide. You just know he was going to be famous.

And as a dance student back then Dirty Dancing made me :faint:

i'm so saddened about Patrick's passing.

From the Outsiders to Dirty Dancing and Ghost - his movies where there while i was in my teen's and 20's

His movie gave us an escape from reality - taking us to the 50's summer or a look at what could happen when we die.

I truly hope Sam was right and we take all the love with us when we go.

if it's true then Patrick left this world with a whole love of love from his family and so much from us.

You can now rest Patrick. You were loved

I wish there was a memorial graphic for him that I could put in my signature but I haven't been able to find one yet.

how about this one

Thanks, Kurby...I can edit that one easily enough to have his name and the dates underneath it.

Another one is gone! Patrick played a creepy motivational speaker in Donnie Darko, one of my favorite movies.
