We just got back from SSR it was our 1st visit to there and we loved it, we were in the Paddock are in bldg15 I was surprised that the patio had such cheap furniture it seemed like they forgot about furnitue and ran to Walmart at the last minute. This was the only thing we did not like so I can't complain to much, maybe they will upgrade them by the next time we go.

Doubt it - I think all of the patio and balcony furniture is plastic, even that at the non-DVC resorts.

Best wishes -

OKW has always been the cheap plastic patio furniture. I'm fine with it, given how the FL weather changes and humidty would impact it, and the cheap replacement costs...so there is basically no maintenance.

I buy those cheap resin chairs at Home Depot or whatever for less than $4.00 per chair. My guess is that Disney buys them for half of that or less. Easier to throw them out than to keep them maintained.

I agree...for Florida it's the way to go. Besides, anything with metal in it would be pretty scary in the Florida heat! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

1) The furniture is meant to be inexpensive and disposable.
. . . there is no maintenance
. . . there is little chance of theft
. . . cleaning is not a problem
2) People normally don't spend much patio time, so why go overboard.
