Patiently waiting for D23 Expo 2011 prices

Ever since they announced that the tickets for the D23 Expo in 2011 would go on sale a year in advance (August 19th), I've been patiently waiting for the prices to show up. I figured once Destination D pricing was announced it would follow quickly. Then I figured, it surely has to come out by July 17th (55th anniversary of Disneyland), of course that day passed too. Now that the tickets go on sale in less than a month, I am getting less and less patient.

Anyone else waiting for this announcement? What do you think the pricing will be? Last year you could attend all 4 days for $90, and with apparently 40,000 attendees that seems reasonable. I expect it to be at least $100 this time and wouldn't be surprised to see it higher. Loved all the surprises last time and imagine the 2 year wait is so that they can continue to delight and surprise again (when is Pirates 4 supposed to be released? Perhaps Johnny Depp will appear again?).

Perhaps I'm the only one planning on buying tickets on August 19th a year in advance, but figured if anyone else would they would be on this board... Your thoughts/expectations?

It was $90 for 4 days last year, but there are only 3 days this year. I'm hoping they keep the pricing the same or less.

I think they're probably waiting for Destination D to sell out. It doesn't make sense to decide and/or release Expo pricing when you can't even sell out this relatively small event.

I don't think the prices will be much different either. I didn't get to go to last years, but definitely am planning on going to this one! :) I think that they are doing the same thing they do for the races - registration opens and you find out what the price is - not either/or. August 19 will be here before you know it! :cool1:

Could be and good point about it only being 3 days next year.

I guess I'm only bugged because they announce 4 months ago that it is going on sale a year in advance (5 months basically from the announcement) and the website has said since that time "Special member ticket prices will be announced soon" in bold -- the only thing highlighted in the announcement.

Not complaining mind you, but just anticipating... :rotfl:

Guess I'll probably have to wait until August 19th to see!

I'm guessing it will be more. I thought the Expo was a super bargain, kind of an introductory price" :) I'd pay more. It was a wonderful time and I will probably buy tickets right away.

I hope they really have the tickets for sale on Aug. 19th because they have said that with the races and it isn't until a month later that they finally are. Very aggravating! It is too early to make room reservations, so I will wait a bit.

Regardless of the price, it will be nice to see so many Disney fans in one place!

I am really looking forward to next years D23 Expo after last years was great. It will be really interesting to see how much tickets will be this year, I would assume with one day less at next years Expo, they will keep it around the same price.

Have been wanting to book a hotel myself, but haven't tried hard enough apparently... Guess I could always try calling and see if they'd do it since online they aren't taking reservations yet...

Wow! Most hotels only let you book a year out.

I am booked at the Cortona Inn & Suites looks pretty good. It's real close to the convention center and Disney. I got a Suite for 99 bucks a night that gives me two queen beds a queen pull out sofa and I am also getting a roll away. There is a 9 dollar resort fee a night that include WiFi.The roll away is 15 a night.I wanted something close to both there will be five adults two kids .I got it for four nights the expo and a couple of days at the parks.I can not wait for world of color.

Dang! 2 Queens, a pull out AND a roll away!! Gonna be a party in that room!!

I can't check on rooms until 90 days out - maybe a little further out than that - our employee rate and friends and family rates aren't usually available until then. But, they are usually worth the wait. Regardless, it sounds like you are all set!
