I have been wanting a wide angle lens for some time now and today I lucked out. I just happened to take a peek at the local craigslist today and the first thing listed under photo and video was a Nikkor 10.5mm f2.8 fisheye lens for $475. It was listed as like new and only purchased a few months ago. I quickly emailed the person and said I would like to meet them and try it out before I could say I would take it but I was very interested in it. We met at the mall parking lot a few hours later. He had only purchased it 2 months ago and shot about 30 pics with it. He bought it for a specific event and now didnt think he would use it much and wanted the money to make another purchase. It came with all the packaging, paperwork and looks like it was never used. I put it on my camera and tried a few shots in the parking lot. Now I cant wait for the opportunity to get out and try it out for real. :cool1:

:cool1: Very cool. The 10.5 is on my long short-list of what I'd like to pick up. Unfortunately, since it'll probably be a lens that I would use less than any non-fisheye lenses, I probably won't be getting that for quite a while.

Can't wait to see some pics!

Great find and great price. I got one for christmas from DW and I love it. I rented one for our cruise last september. I believe you will really enjoy it.

I was actually all set to pull the trigger on a Sigma 10-20 this week but the price on the 10.5 was too good to pass up. The wide zoom can wait for a little while now.

Welcome to the fisheye club! Come on in, the water's fine!

(Get it? Fish... water... OK, not all the jokes can be winners! :crazy2: )

Hey it made me laugh ... good one. Its snowing about 1-2" an hour out there right now so I dont think I will be venturing out with the new lens today. At least not until the snow stops! I might have to break out the D40 wih the 18-55 though and go for a walk before it stops.

here is a cropped picture in front of my house taken with the 10.5 when it snowed this morning.

Awesome shot YesDear!! I wanted to get out with my new lens today too but I am attempting to get all my work done before leaving for a memorial service to be held at Ft. Bragg later this week. Thank you for sharing. I hope to be getting some shots soon with it to share.

wave as you go by! I am in Raleigh. Sorry you are going for a memorial.

We are flying from Philadelphia into Raleigh-Durham tomorrow night and then driving to Fayetteville. I will wave at ya when we are landing
