Does anyone do this?

My boss is having a baby in August, i'm quiet crafy, but havent used a sewing machine since school (o dear i hear you say), and i really would like to make one for her newborn.

I've looked over the internet and it all seems very confusing and i dont really want to sign up to college courses etc.

Anyone got any tips or anything? I know of a few craft sites but thought i would ask here first.

Hi:wave2: What a wonderful idea :thumbsup2 I can only suggest using fabric cutting templates to give the equal shaped pieces before you sew them together, make sure that the "filler" is light weight as babies can very easily overheat, as long as you can practice with a few rough bits and your machine you will soon work out what's best for secure stitching of your work. After all you want to make sure there are no loose threads that could work free. Maybe you can stitch or embroider a character on the design or look for some fabric with characters on before you put the whole thing together and add your edging tape or ribbon. I'm sure you can get advice from a local sewing group or shop if you get stuck, good luck and have fun.;)
