How are the pastries, muffins, cinnamons rolls, etc. at Cabanas breakfast and in Cove Cafe? I always tend to pass them up assuming that they're dry and tasteless fillers. I feel like they often are in standard buffets. But, I haven't actually tried them on DCL.

I'm sure some people enjoy them, for me they are meh. If I need to get something in a hurry they will do, but I'd rather have some eggs, fried potatoes or muesli.

I think Cove Cafe ones are better. I was never a fan of the pastries or desserts in Cabanas.

The chocolate pillows in Cove Cafe are very yummy!!

Must have at least one Rice Krispie treat at Cove

The ones in Cove are decent. Though the croissants are hit or miss. If they are fresh, they are nice and flakey, but mostly they end up being gummy. I skip the ones in Cabanas. Big meh.

The French rolls in Cabanas are great when fresh and the same is true for the croissants in Cove. Thye used to have the BEST cinnamon rolls in Palo, but those are not currently offered.

Just remember Cove Cafe is 18+ only. No kids.

Of course you could take things to them, but they are not allowed in.

I had a croissant at Cabanas on the Dream back in August, and I was surprised at just how good it was. It seemed very fresh, with a delicious flavor. I agree with those who have said usually that stuff is nothing worth mentioning, but this croissant actually was. ;)

That's true, but there are also plenty of us cruising without kids. Perks of getting married young and having kids young - empty nesting at 42.

Oh I know. I cruise solo. Just putting it out there for newbies. :)

I usually go in and snap a pic for my kiddo, then bring it back out to the pool deck and show her the choices. She picks and I go back in to grab what she wants. I usually only need take one picture because they don't really change throughout the cruise. Except in the evenings when it changes to the cheeses and stuff.
