Pasta

Penne rigate and angel hair are the ones I use the most.

I love all pasta, but the feeling isn't mutual. I have had to cut it out of my diet.

Had to google the fancy name for bowtie pasta because I knew it had one. So my favorite is Farfalle pasta. :goodvibes

I am Italian so I love it all!!!

I love spaghetti with gravy (sauce) and meatballs.

I like penne with a cheesy sauce or broccoli & garlic & chicken & oil

I love gnocchi, but I prefer homemade because it is a bit lighter then store bought.

I love ravioli, stuffed shells & lasagna.

I like rotini with tuna.

I think cappacelli (sp, the curly kind) is pretty good with gravy as well.

My dh loves rotini with his sauce (he is not Italian so it is sauce for him).

Shells, I like with cheese, the same with elbows, aka mac & cheese.

Alphabets or orzo I like with butter.

Ditalini, I like with soup.

I can't think of what else & I am making pasta tonight since I am assuming my dd has softball practice & it will stop snowing.

Angelhair pasta for light pasta dishes

Thin Spaghetti for spaghetti and meatballs

Fusilli or small shells for macaroni and cheese

Angel hair for butter/garlic/olive oil and rigatoni for alfredo, red sauce, and mac and cheese.

With home made gravy, my home made spaghetti is #1 in my house.

Store bought would be Barilla. Penne is my favorite, spaghetti is my families, ditalini for pasta fagioli and orzo, pastina or Ronzoni Acini di pepe for soup. Tortellini with cut up veggies and Italian dressing for a side salad or sometimes in Chicken soup as a treat.

Ok- so I have to wonder... when you all are saying 'gravy' are we talking meat sauce or brown gravy?? I grew up with sunday gravy and it was a meat sauce....

my favorite is fusilli for meat sauce, angel hair for arrabiatta, I like ziti rigatti for vodka sauce. My families' fav splurge is frozen ricotta cavatelli- we love that!

Gravy is tomato sauce, ground meats and Chianti mixed into a layer of goodness of course! It shows up every Sunday at our house too:goodvibes

Gravy is red & brown in my house but if I am having pasta I do put gravy (the red stuff) on it.

I grew up calling it gravy & still call it that. My dh calls it sauce.

Usually sauce means marinara and gravy means tomato sauce with meat in it (if you are talking about Italian food). Otherwise gravy is brown.

I like linguine or ziti rigati. DH likes spaghetti or linguine.

I grew up with gravy on sunday with our pasta- meatballs, sausage, braciole. But dh grew up italian only a town over and he still refuses to call it gravy- and neither does his family. I have grown out of it myself since it seems like an oddity here in FL but get a kick out of hearing my NY relatives say it

We never called tomato sauce "gravy" in my (Italian) family either ... and actually we never said we were having "pasta" for dinner either ... we always said we were having "macaroni" ... :)

I love all pasta. The shape I like best depends on what I'm making. I do use Giuseppe Rigatoni Gigante for my Rigatoni Alla Vodka because it is the BEST! yum now I need to make that soon.

I also love pastina with grated parmesan and butter.
