Okay everyone, Randy is holding my date until the end of the day tomorrow and I have to make a decision. We are having an intimate wedding at the wedding pavilion. We have to choose between DPS and Randy. To those of you who recieved the cd from Randy, have you had any issues with the quality when you tried to print the pictures? Who would you recommend and why? Please help me with this last major decision.

Are you having and intimate or custom wedding? Do you need to meet minimums, or are you trying to stay within a reasonable budget?

When you break it down by the cost factor:

Least expensive - DPS
Moderate cost - Randy

I think that they both offer great quality, as I have checked out numerous pictures from them both.

Hope this helps! Good Luck and Congrats! :teeth:

we are having an intimate wedding. I'm more concerned with having great pictures at the end of the day right now than price but I don't know who to go with. It worries me that with DPS it is so expensive to get prints, but I want to make sure that the CD that you get from Randy is of good quality.

Have you seen any of the intimate portriats out here on the disboards?

With DPS, you can pre-order ALL of your proofs for $225.00...I don't think that you can beat that! Most DPS intimate brides have between 60 -150 pictures...that's a whole lot for just ceremony pictures.

With DPS, the cost is free for their services, plus you recieve 12 "free" pictures in an album. For a minimal cost, you can get ALL of your proofs to keep forever and you can save even more by just ordering the reprints/enlargements of your favorites.

I just recently decided to do the custom wedding, however when I was going to do the intimate, I was going to use Randy. I know that you get photography free with the intimate, but some on the board said that you can substitute the intimate DPS photos for something else like honeymoon photo shoot. I like Randy b/c I enjoy what he does (photojounalistic approach), and he is easy to talk to. I would have gone for the extra expense and gone with Randy b/c I know what I am going to get. (BTW, he will be doing my custom wedding next year ! )

with the intimate wedding package your photography is included in the package for i believe 2 hours & includes only 12 preselected photos in a folio. all other pictures must be purchased by you seperatly.

as for randy chapman :goodvibes he has an intimate like package #1 for $575 which includes 3 hours coverage, apr. 150 photos in a preview album, 1 -11x14 & a compressed cd of all photos.

best of luck with your choice. either way you'll have beautiful photos. and dont forget to check out the sticky wedding photo link there's a good variety of brides who used both dps & randy so you can see some examples. we choose randy for our custom wedding for his photojournalistic style & value, we want tons of wedding photos.

Randy did a fantastic job on our wedding. We ended up with 180 pictures and I got 2 8x10's instead of the 11x14. The cd quality is excellent. I have had fun with the cd and imaging software.

We used Randy for our custom wedding. The High Res CD that he will send you allows you to print poster sized pictures from your wedding. You should have no worries about the quality you will get from him. Because I was a custom, my decision is slightly different, but for me in the end it came down to knowing who was going to photograph our day. Disney wouldn't even tell me until a couple weeks before the wedding who our photographer would be, let alone give me the chance to meet with them. I wasn't comfortable with that, so I chose Randy. I think I got a lot more for my money than I would have with Disney. But, many brides have been very please with their pictures from DPS. Good luck with your decision!

LOL! I've been married 17 years, and I wish I could do it all over again just to have Randy shoot my photos!
He is one darn good photographer! I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you choose him...

We used Randy..we got all our proofs in a album plus cd's with all our pics. I did not order any pics from him as the quality of the cd is EXCELLENT and I can print what ever size i need from a kodak picture maker for minimal cost (5x7 1.99 !!), the pics are gorgeous, the lady at the store could not believe the quality!

Randy is the best! His photos are wonderful and the CD is high quality. I made all my own prints for my home and family they turned out really well. I took the CD to Walmart and they made me an 8x10 black and white photo w/ only my flowers in color for $6.00. Randy has the best deal and his pictures are fabulous!

Thank you all so much for your advice. We decided to go with Randy and I'm so excited about it. Thanks again.

i had no problem printing out pictures from my wedding on the CD's that randy sent me. the quality is outstanding. they do, however, take FOREVER to upload onto shutterfly.com if you want to email people your pictures. but it's worth the wait. my pictures were put on 4 CD and it took me all day but it was worth it to share my pictures with everyone after the fact.
randy is a phenomenal photographer. you can view my pictures by going to these links:

this will give you an idea on what randy's work is like. i highly recommend randy because he did such a phenomenal job on our pictures, is very polite and wonderful to work with, sends you the pictures in the albums and the CD's with the pictures on them and has reasonable packages. i hope this helps with your decision. let us know how it turns out.

We got married at Walt Disney World back in 2003 and had Randy Chapman as our photographer. I don't think he had the option at the time of having our pictures on CD, but I probably never looked for it. You have made a great choice with Randy Chapman. We were very please with his work.

Here is a link to our photos that I will leave on my site for a few days for you to view. Please keep in mind that these are scanned in from the proof book, so the quality is a little off. Randy will ask you for a list of pictures you might want to have taken, so this might help. http://www.discoverwdw.com/wedding

I see your having an intimate wedding, so this maybe over kill for you. Are you having a videographer for your wedding? You'll read a lot of people saying you don't need one, but we love ours. The pictures are great, but the video catches everything. We used STVS Wedding Videos and Stan has a great way of bringing it all together. We even have a two minute summary at the end of the video that wraps the whole thing up. I can post a link to that as well if that is something you would like to view.

I wish you luck in your coming wedding.

Sincerely,
Dwight

I forgot one last thing that you should do as "a once in a life time" event. Get your pictures taken in the morning at the Magic Kingdom. Ask your event planner how to schedule it. I'll be honest, being escorted into the park at 6am the morning of the wedding wasn't exactly fun, but it's worth it. Those pictures are on the website link I posted earlier.
